At the end of 2009, the LPR team disappeared. With ten of his teammates, as well as sports director Giovanni Fidanza, he joined the new team of Rosa-Stac Plastic [ 2 ] . Montaguti won his first professional race in 2010 by winning during the first re stage of the tour of the province of Reggio de Calabria. He retained his first place in the general classification until the end of the race to finally win it. In August 2010 , he announces his signature in the French team Ag2r La Mondiale where he joined his compatriot Rinaldo NoCentini [ 3 ] . During the 2011 season, he did not win a race, but participated both in the Tour of Italy and the Tour of Spain. In the Spanish race, he wears the polka dot jersey for the best climber for two days, finally finishing second in the ranking, only preceded by David Moncouti\u00e9. In 2012, he finished best climber in the Tour in Switzerland. On the Tour of the 2014 Basque Country, he took part in the morning escape of the first stage, but was taken over 26 kilometers from the finish.
