I Meduza (made graphically how Meduza ) are an Italian musical group with house influences, trained in 2019 and composed of the three producers Simone Giani, Luca De Gregorio and Mattia Vitale. [2]
Among the most influential Italian DJs of their generation, they achieved global success in 2019 with the hit Piece of Your Heart , followed by other highly successful songs such as Lose Control , Paradise It is Tell It to My Heart .
Simone Giani and Luca De Gregorio graduated from the Milan Conservatory in organ and electronic music. Mattia Vitale, on the other hand, is a DJ Resident House and has performed as a second job in several clubs in Milan and surroundings. After her studies Luca began his career as a musician working in the studio, Simone became a music teacher. A friendship is initially established between the trio which will lead subsequently to the creation of a musical project focused on the review of traces of other artists in a dance key.
In 2014 Mattia and Simone decided to start producing their own music and the following year he also joined the group Luca.
In 2018 they start working in London for the Universal UK.
In 2019 the current project was officially born. The name Meduza is chosen by the trio as a game of words on the initials of their M-D-S-S-S [3] .
In 2019 they published the individual Piece of Your Heart , in collaboration with the duo of English producers Goodboys. The single reached the second position of the UK Singles Chart [4] And on November 20, 2019 he was appointed to Grammy Awards in the “Best Dance Registration” category [5] .
In 2019 they published the song Lose Control In collaboration with Becky Hill and the GoodBoys again [6] .
In 2020 they published the song for Defected Born to Love In collaboration with Shells. The new single was released on 30 October Paradise for the label Second floor , produced with Dermot Kennedy.
On March 22, 2021 they are in fact the first Italian artists to perform live in the well -known American television show The Ellendegeneres Show [7] .
On 14 May 2021 they publish the fifth single of the project: Headrush , made together with Elroii, followed on 29 October by the sixth single made with Hozier, Tell It to My Heart [8] .
The Meduza are, second Forbes , the most listened to Italian artists in the world on Spotify in 2020, the 22th DJs in the world in the Top100 alternative ranking according to the site DJ Mag [9] , in addition to being at number 2 in the ranking of the 1001Tracklist of the best world producers [ten] . Rolling Stone Italia called them the “Måneskin of the dance” [11]
In 2021 they announce their residency at Wynn Las Vegas [twelfth] . In February 2022 they perform as guests during the Sanremo Festival. [13]
