The 1980 season of the Mozambique football championship is the fifth edition of the first division championship in Mozambique. The clubs participate first in their regional championship and the best in each area qualify for the national final phase.

It is the CD Costa do Sol, holding the title, which again wins the championship this season after having finished at the top of the final pool, with a single point ahead of the textáfrica do chimoio and two on Grupo Desportivo de Maputo . This is the second title of champion of the Mozambique in the history of the club, which even succeeds the double by winning against Palmeiras de Beira in the final of the Mozambique Cup.
