The film is a remake of the Italian film Three meters above the sky , which is itself the adaptation of the novel Three meters above the sky .

Zach and Sarah are two teenagers that everything seems to oppose. Sarah is a brilliant high school student, first in her class, and Zach has the typical profile of the bad boy, rebellious and who does not pay any attention to studies. They will however meet, fall in love, despite the world between them, despite their fears, despite their history and despite appearances. They will experience a passionate love story.

Sarah is a promising student, the best in her class and passionate about riding but who, for fear of the unknown, is organized to the point of being maniac. Zach, he is a Bad Boy returned to several high schools who don’t care about the rules

Their meeting takes place during the final year, just after the Christmas holidays. At the beginning Sarah is very upset by Zach, a “sans-gêne” and a “goujat”.

During a party, Zach has the misfortune to intervene between her and a pretender a little too expansive. Sarah very upset by Zach’s attitude gets carried away and launches her glass of water to the head. He then forcibly takes him to the bathroom where he showering it copiously. This incident marks the birth of their relationship. The low blows between them are multiplying, still doubled by a certain attraction.

Their relationship takes a new turn when Sarah, during a sports class, falls into a hole in the park of the castle and cannot leave it alone. It is Zach who finds her and helps him go up. It is also the time of their first physical contact. Their first kiss took place a few days later, during a party organized for the holidays. However, during all the Sarah holidays will no longer have news from Zach, she feels betrayed and abandoned. At the start of the school year she becomes remote. Zach realizes it and addresses a letter of excuse. They recover together. There follows a passionate relationship where Sarah will know her “first time”.

Unfortunately, an incident occurs, Zach bursts with his scooter, on the road to the boarding school one night when he had proposed to bring Sarah back to boarding school. The two teenagers are therefore forced to spend the night outside. The next morning, when we find them, Zach is definitively excluded from the school, Sarah is doing with a week of exclusion. But on this occasion, Zach and Sarah argue, because the girl does not admit the aggressive behavior that Zach had with the director of the school, and he does not admit to be “yell at” while he was looking for departure to defend it.

Then begins a period of separation when Sarah takes refuge in studies and horse riding and Zach in the photo and poker. They end up recovering together during a party and thanks to the intervention of the Sarah stepfather. But Sarah soon leaves for America where she has to take higher education, and Zach, he found work in Australia. They swear to meet again when Sarah had her bac.

On the day of graduation, Sarah writes it right away in Zach and organizes a big party where she has to find her lover. But, while she will say goodbye by going up to her riding club one last time, an hour before the party. Sarah falls, hurts herself seriously and died a few hours later at the hospital with Zach with her.

A few days later, Zach joined the relatives and close friends of Sarah, for a “commemorative meeting”, during which the Sarah stepfather gave him the gifts that Sarah wanted to give her before her departure in Australia.
A letter, a torch lamp “so that he is never afraid of black” and his red scarf with his smell, that’s all the boy will have of her.

The final scene of the film shows Zach on a motorcycle, traveling certain streets of Paris, while Sarah’s letter is read in voice-over. This motorcycle route ends on the avenue des Champs-Élysées, which inevitably makes you think of the place of underworld (the Champs-Élysées), in Greek mythology, where the dead were resting.
