Lenticular galaxies list

NGC 5820 is a lenticular galaxy located in the Bouvier constellation. Its speed compared to the cosmological diffuse background is to 3 413 ± 16 km/s [ 4 ] , which corresponds to a hubble distance of 50.4 ± 3.5 Mpc (∼164 Millions d’A.L. ) [ c ] . NGC 5820 was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel in 1788.

The NGC 5820 galaxies is in the Atlas of Halton ARP’s particular galaxies under the Cote ARP 136 [ 6 ] . ARP mentions that this is an example of an elliptical galaxy with a pale flow. This flow visible to the southeast on the image obtained from the SDSS statement.

To date, five measures not based on the redhead to red ( redshift ) give a distance of 37,440 ± 12,173 Mpc (∼122 Millions d’A.L. ) [ 7 ] , which is just the outside of the calculated distances by using the value of the lag [ c ] . Note, however, that it is with the average value of independent measures, when they exist, that the NASA/IPAC database calculates the diameter of a galaxy and that consequently the diameter of NGC 5820 could be around 31 , 4 kpc (∼102 000 to the. ) If we used Hubble’s distance to calculate it.

According to A.M. Garcia, the Galaxy NGC 5820 is part of a group of galaxies which has at least seven members, the group of NGC 5908. The other members of this group are NGC 5821, NGC 5874, NGC 5876, NGC 5905, NGC 5908 and UGC 9759 [ 8 ] .

On the other hand, in an article published in 1998, Abraham Mahtessian also mentions this group, but the Galaxies NGC 5820, NGC 5821 and UGC 9759 do not appear there [ 9 ] .
