Paul-Jean-Jacques Lacôme d’Estalenx , better known as Paul Lacôme , is a French composer and musical critic, born the at Houga (Gers) where he died the .

He was mainly in the lyrical field, making up a dozen comic operas, bust operas and operettas. He was an intimate friend of Emmanuel Chabrier, with whom he maintained an important correspondence.

Son of Auguste Lacome and Clémentine d’Estalenx, he was adopted by his aunt Elvire d’Estalenx in 1870 and added to his surname the name of his mother, an old family from Houga in the process of extinction. In 1882 he married Gabrielle du Lau-Lusignan, of a family from Laujuzan, neighbor of Houga. Having had the misfortune to lose a son in 1917 and his wife in 1918, he left a son Marc, known as Jean-François, Lacôme d’Estalenx.

He is also the composer of many other songs, including a piano trio, violin and cello, and vocal pieces including the duo for equal voice Student which inspired the valve of the same name to Emile Waldteufel or the Song Sing Christmas .
