The football section was created in 1905. After having signed some great performances before the Great War (Champion of the East 1909, 10, 11 and 12), the club is slowed down by hostilities. In 1936, the decision to build a V\u00e9lodrome stadium with 18,000 seats was taken. The stadium now bears the name of L\u00e9o Lagrange, French socialist, under-secretary of State for sports and the organization of leisure under the Popular Front.
