(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4[ first ] Reginald (Wilfrid) Campbell is a British writer born in 1894 and died in 1950.   In the 1920s, an employee of a forest operating company, he was responsible for monitoring the river routing to Bangkok from Teck dirts from northern Siam (today Thailand, northeast of Nakhon Lampang [ first ] , in a sort of triangle delimited by the confluence between the Nam Ngao and the Nam Yom). From this experience, he drew a book of memories published in 1935 under the title of Teak-Wallah, a record of personal experience [ 2 ] , word Wallah designating, in English from the Indian, a responsible .(French translation In the Siamese forest ), illustrated with 14 personal photographs. Weakened by pathologies then almost inevitable in South East Asia and of which he speaks in his book (dengue, malaria, dysentery, lesions due to leeches and easily infected), he regained Europe and his native country in 1924 definitively in 1924 [ first ] . He could appeal to the curious spirits to note that, during the first years of his five-year contract (1919-1924), Campbell had as a hierarchical superior and mentor on site a certain Orwell, patronym corresponding exactly to the name of the famous author of 1984 which, too, resided in the region (in Burma) roughly during the same years (1922-1927): pure coincidence, however, since Eric Arthur Blair chooses his pseudonym a few years before the publication of Campbell’s book [ 3 ] . He is also known to be the author of many novels and short stories with Siam who was part of the British Empire which gives his work a “slight” dated coloring. From 1927 to 1949 its news was published in a bimonthly periodical, then weekly, The Popular Stories , in the weekly The Illustrated London News , as well as in monthly periodicals ( Everybody’s Magazine , Munsey’s , Frontier Stories , Mine , The Monthly Story Blue Book Magazine, enfin dans A quarterly periodical Jungle Stories . NB: Jungle Night (1935) is a good track for the equivalent of Noche en la Selva … Given the large number of authors with the first name Reginald and for name Campbell, it is not easy to say that all the titles are of the same writer. However, the writings which are part of the jungle, Thailand, the elephants, the tigers are certainly his.
