RER Basel S3 line – Wikipedia

The Ligne S3 is an element of the RER Basel network in Switzerland.
It serves the Basel Agglomeration of the South-East (Tecknau) in the Southwest (Porrentruy).
The S3 line was commissioned in 1997 and extended in 2004 [ first ] .
Since the CFF schedule has occurred in , this line is no longer served only by Flirt Rabe 521 or Rabe 523 oars.

It is mainly divided into 2 parts, the Ergolztal line towards Lietal and Olten, and the Jura line to Laufon, Delémont and Porrentruy. Double-vendo in most of Olten in Aesch and continues in single way to Porrentruy with many cross stations.
The total length of the line is 104.6 km [ first ] .
The , the Federal Transport Office approved the doubling of the path between the municipalities of Duggingen and Grellingen, for a budgetary sum of 130 million francs [ 2 ] .

The line has 27 stations served [ first ] . His departure is in Olten; It stops in all stations by passing through 4 different cantons (Solure, Basel-Campagne, Basel-Ville and Jura) before reaching Porrentruy.

The trains are stadler flirts [ 3 ] . The cadence is 2 trains per hour between Olten and Lauufon (via Basel SBB) and a train per hour from Laufon to Porrentruy, all day. In rush hour, additional trains circulate between Basel and Olten and between Basel and Delémont.
