Richard Savignac (May 1965 in Montreal in the province of Quebec in Canada -) is a Quebec musician, sometimes trumpeter, sometimes conductor, sometimes arranger.
A graduate in trumpet interpretation of the Faculty of Music of the University of Montreal, class of Guy Archambault, studies arrangement and orchestration with Richard Ferland, Mario Parent and Léon Bernier. He also has a college diploma (DEC) in professional music at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent, in addition to being a graduate in educational sciences and school administration.
It comes from the very first cuvée of Le Plateau school, music concentration in primary school. His taste for music was born from this school Le Plateau, from the Montreal Catholic Schools Commission (CECM), music concentration in primary school. From a very young age, he has been attracted to musical education.
At 16, already, he teaches in bug and brass bodies on the Montreal outskirts: Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Sainte-Julie, La Prairie and Fleurimont. He is also one of the first trumpets within the Montreal Ritmiks and is section chief. At 20, he teaches the trumpet at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent, at the Sainte-Croix college.
Always rubbing shoulders with the trumpet in more than one orchestra, metropolitan orchestra, Montérégie Symphony Orchestra, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean symphonic orchestra, Laval orchestra, Jazz-Rock St-Laurent, Popular Orchestras of Gaston Thibault, Richard Charron, Georges and Emilio Fiori, Serge Gascon, Jacques Bourget, Sept-Îles Big Band and the Savignac Jazz Band, to name a few. The writing of music is omnipresent in his life. From his first steps in musical arrangements, after several contracts already, arrangements arrange for the gala Tribute to Cardinal Paul-Émile Léger , For Montreal live On VAT, and other arrangements that will be played outside country: Alaska, New York, Caribbean, Panama and on cruise ships. He also wrote for the Alcan quartet.
As a conductor and arranger, he worked with several soloists including: Alain Lefèvre, Alain Trudel, André Moisan, Guy Archambault, Michel Cusson, Alain Cazes, André Leroux, Michel Gingras, Louise Bouchard, John Van Bockern, Lajos Molnar, Robert Pelletier, Jean-François Normand, Florent Vollant, Pierre Barouh and the late Sylvain Lelièvre.
For 20 years now, he has holded the trumpet class, the concert harmony and the stage band At the Saguenay Lac St-Jean summer music camp in Métabetchouan.
At 22, in 1987, arrived in Sept-Îles, he founded his own professional group, the Savignac Jazz Band . Through this set, several new North-Côtières achievements: for Radio-Canada, Vide-Clip, program Video club , network emission, Multiple , Launch of programming, multiple gala evenings, official opening of Alouette alumina, among others.

Back in his native region in 2012, in Montreal, he became coordinator of the Music Department of the Saint-Luc Secondary School of the Montreal School Service Center. More than 900 students are enrolled in the various music programs, including the Arts-Studies program: music-studies.
