The 2010-2011 season is the 78th season in Serie A from Rome and the 82nd in the Italian top flight championship. The coach is Claudio Ranieri, Roman technical commissioner originally from San Saba, who led the team also in the previous season.

The first official commitment of Rome is the Italian Super Cup. The race, however, sees Inter in Milan impose itself 3-1. [4] In the championship, the Giallorossi begin with the internal draw for 0-0 with the newly promoted Cesena and in the following day they are heavily defeated by Cagliari 5-1 away. [5] [6]

After a 2-2 draw at home with Bologna (with the Emilians who reassemble a disadvantage of two goals) and a discussed 2-1 defeat with Brescia, Rome gets, at the Olimpico, the first seasonal victory, beating , with a goal by Mirko Vučinić at the end, Inter. [7] [8] [9] After losing 2-0 on the outside with Napoli, Rome remains unbeaten for 7 games, also winning the Rome derby for 2-0, against Fiorentina 3-2 and drawing 1-1 in Turin against Juventus and climbing from the relegation zone to fifth place. [ten] [11] [twelfth] [13] [14] [15] [16] The following game was lost 3-1 with Palermo in Sicily and draws the external game with Chievo for 2-2 (with the clivense who, also here, reassemble a disadvantage of two goals), Roma gets a measure of measure on Bari (1-0) and then wins the direct clash with Milan for 1-0 at San Siro. [17] [18] [19] [20] [21]

After the winter break, Rome defeats Catania in the house 4-2 and enters the Champions League area, and then lost against Sampdoria in Genoa, with the blucerchiati winning 2-1 in comeback. Then the second round begins, which for Roma begins with three useful results, two victories against Cesena outside the home (1-0) and Cagliari in the house (3-0) and a draw, always at home, with Brescia (1 -1). [22] [23] [24] [25] [26] However, it is then defeated 5-3 from Inter to Milan. [27] Then follow the first internal defeat of the season, 2-0 with Napoli, and then an incredible external defeat for 4-3 with Genoa, with Roma who, forward 3-0, suffers 4 goals in the last 40 minutes game. [28] [29] Following this result, given the bad position of the Rome ranking (eighth place), Claudio Ranieri resigns from the role of coach, who is entrusted to Vincenzo Montella, coach of the youth team and the Romanist flag, who begins with an external victory for 1 -0 against Bologna, in the recovery of the third return day. [30] After an internal draw for 2-2 with Parma, also in this case with the ducals who come back two goals of disadvantage, and an external victory 2-1 with Lecce, Rome wins the third seasonal derby, beating 2- 0 Lazio with a brace by Francesco Totti and taking to – 4 from 4th place. [thirty first] [32] [33]

For the second time in its history, Rome wins 5 derby in a row (but in two seasons). The next day, in Florence, Roma draws 2-2 with the hosts thanks to another brace of Totti, who unlocks in the stadium where he had never scored. [34] Then Rome makes 13 points in the last championship games but after the defeat against Catania 2-1, Rome remains outside the Champions League. The season ends with a 3-1 in favor of the Giallorossi at the Olimpico against Sampdoria, which relegated to Serie B and qualifies to the preliminaries of the Europa League with sixth place. [35] In the Italian Cup, Rome starts from the round of 16, where he defeats Lazio 2-1 in the second seasonal citizen derby. [36] Juventus eliminates in the quarterfinals, winning 2-0 outside the home. [37] In the semifinal it is eliminated from Inter. [38] [39]

In the Champions League, Rome is drawn in the group and with Bayern Munich, Cluj and Basel. Roma begins with an external defeat 2-0 with the Germans of Bayern Munich, and then win the following match 2-1 with the Romanians of the Cluj. [40] [41] The third day sees Roma losing another game, at home 3-1 with the Swiss of Basel. [42] However, in the following game, always against Basel, but in Switzerland, the Giallorossi win 3-2 and put themselves in the race for the round of 16. [43] Therefore, Rome triumphs against Bayern Munich in the house, winning 3-2 in comeback, after passing at a disadvantage of two goals. [44] On the last day of the groups, Roma equalized 1-1 in Romania with the Cluj, qualifying for the round of 16. [45] Here he is drawn against the Šachtar Ukrainians, who eliminate the Giallorossi winning 3-2 in Rome and 3-0 in Ukraine. [forty six] [47]

The technical sponsor for the 2010-2011 season is Kappa, while the official sponsor is Wind. The first uniform consists of a red jersey with sleeve and yellow collar, white shorts and black socks. On the road, the wolves use a white jersey with Giallorossi details and the “lupetto” by Piero Gratton instead of the corporate coat of arms, white shorts, white socks. A black kit with yellow details is used as a third uniform. Goalkeepers use three uniforms: one black, one red, a gray, all with yellow details. [48]
