Route Nationale 11 (Metropolitan France) – Wikipedia

The National road 11 , or RN 11 , is a French national route connecting Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan (near Niort) to La Rochelle. Originally, it connected Poitiers to Rochefort.

The current section is part of the European route 601 as well as part of the European road 3 (between the interchange with the departmental road 137 and La Rochelle).

Until the Decalsements of 1972, the national road 11 linked Poitiers to Rochefort. The section of Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon in La Rochelle then belonged to the national road 22, while the national road 11 served Surgères and Rochefort via A section now downgraded in D 911 .

The decree of December 5, 2005 only keeps the section between “The national road 248 (between highway A 10 and the national road 11)” and La Rochelle, as the link “Poitiers (A 10) -The Rochelle” ^{[ first ]} . The section of Fontaine-le-Comte in Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan, at the exchanger level with the national road 248, is downgraded and its management transferred to the departments of Vienne and Deux-Sèvres, under the number D 611 .

The decree of August 7, 2002 said public utility transformation into a highway A 810 The RN 11, as well as the RN 248, between Dompierre-sur-Mer and the A10 at Granzay-Gript (registered in the Olympic Games n ^O 188 of August 13, 2002 ) ^{[ 2 ]} .
