L’ Rouyn-Noranda Regional Airport , is located 16 kilometers east of downtown Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada.
The , the city of Rouyn sold the airport for a dollar to the Minister of Transport of Canada. Subsequently, land rental contracts as well as an airport management agreement by the city were concluded and renewed regularly. Airport role [ modifier | Modifier and code ]
Regular air services are offered to the major southern centers (Montreal, Quebec) as well as nolish flights to the north (La Grande, Nemiscau, Mine Éléonore, Kattiniq-Donaldson). Its role is to meet the socio-economic needs of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, northeast of Ontario and North-du-Québec. The airport also has its importance for service in the event of medical evacuation. Nearly 1,000 public and private medical evacuations take place each year from more isolated regions or for major centers. The airport is the regular workplace of around 150 people.

The annual average of passengers, over the past five years, is nearly 121,000 (143,479 in 2013), while the annual average of air movements approaches 20,000 in the past five years.

The airport is an area of 254 hectares. The altitude in this sector varies from 295 meters to 302 meters (970 feet at 990 feet).
Movement areas [ modifier | Modifier and code ]
The track has a paved length of 2,286 meters and a width of 45.7 meters. The traffic area has a paved area of 19,063 square meters and is connected to the track by two paved traffic lanes.
A parking area, with sockets allowing parking of passing aircraft and based at the airport, is furnished west of the Aerogare.
The structural capacity of the track, traffic lanes and the traffic area allows the movement of devices such as Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.

The terminal is with an area of more than 1,000 square meters and the following services are available:

A new terminal is currently under construction and will be inaugurated at the end of 2021 according to the city of Rouyn-Noranda, owner of the airport [ 2 ] . A video sequence authorized by the latter also shows the extent of this work which will total $ 40M Cad [ 3 ] .
The Glencore mining has administrative offices, with an area of almost 900 square meters, which are related to the terminal.
Public and private parking lots, with a capacity of 1,400 vehicles are available.

Nav Canada operates a flight information station that offers advisory services 24 hours a day. These services are also provided remotely at certain times of the day at the airports in Val-d’Or, Roberval and Saint-Hubert. The building of the flight information station is a four -storey building which also houses the premises of the airport administration, it has a total area of 650 square meters.

A heavy equipment warehouse used for airport operations was built in 2009 to replace an old building. This building houses the Coordination Center for emergency measures and allows you to store heavy vehicles and other equipment as well as to carry out the maintenance. An enlargement, was completed in the fall of 2011. Several other buildings on the ground are intended for storage, including a 145 square meter sand warehouse (476 square feet) and two warehouses to remove the equipment totalizing 580 square meters ( 1,900 square feet). The airport has its own network of aqueduct and sewers.

The Propair company owns two hangars, one of an area of 1,761 square meters (18,960 p2) and the other with a dimension of 1,486 square meters (16,000 p2). The first is used for aircraft maintenance, in addition to hosting maintenance and flight operations offices. The second is used for storage of equipment intended for air transport for mining and lodges administrative offices.
The company specializes in the charter of aircraft and in emergency medical evacuation, in addition to providing stopover, avitaling (100LL and Jet A-1) and logistics services.
