RTS One has not been disseminated in analog since 2007. It has been expressed in UHF in a digital multiplex (TNT) with only three other channels (high speed per program, much higher than French TNT for example). The chain is also available via telereseaux and is also broadcast by the Hot Bird satellite to supply cable networks, serve the shadow areas or simply offer the best image qualities to individuals (6+ Mb/s per chain) . It requires a viaccess decryption card, against a single emolument. It is available for all residents of Switzerland or to each Swiss citizen abroad. For the latter, annual fees will however be collected.

Since , Rts one, just like RTS two, is transmitted both in SD and HD on the Eutelsat Hot Bird 8 satellite. This double diffusion will be maintained until 2015 [ 7 ] .

Digital diffusion supports allow access:

  • In image format mainly in 16: 9 anamorphic, offering a better SD image definition with flat screens (4: 3 Letterbox on analog cable).
  • To international productions translated into French and original language in stereo (two independent audio peers, except on TNT where the VO is in mono), unlike the analog cable which offers the bicanal only in mono.
  • Some programs are produced in HD and relayed via the Swiss HD canal (satellite and digital cable only) or directly on the channel HD channel.
  • At the start of the 2014-2015 school year, the programs are all (or almost) broadcast in HD.

TNT broadcast stopped on and back in Greater Geneva since . It is broadcast on the UHF 34 channel on position n ° 1.

Broadcasting in border France [ modifier | Modifier and code ]

RTS One was received in the border area thanks to bordering hertzian issuers (analogs in 2007, TNT from 2005 to 2019).

TNT broadcast stopped on and returned since on the Grand Geneva and in the Jura since the .

In the French border regions of Switzerland, the chain is broadcast on the Numericable channel 438.

Diffusion in Aosta Valley [ modifier | Modifier and code ]

RTS One is broadcast free of charge in the Italian region using television issuers installed on the mountains according to international agreements after the Second World War. This choice is motivated by the official bilingualism regime in force in this French -speaking region of Italy. The chain is also distributed in TNT via the Rai Mux 1 multiplex on the 102 channel [ 8 ] .

Diffusion au Liechtenstein [ modifier | Modifier and code ]

Rts one is distributed by cable on channel 140 of the FL1 commercial offer from Telecom Liechtenstein [ 9 ] .
