Abel Davos, a gangster condemned to death in default and wanted by the police, takes refuge in Italy with his woman and two young children. After a blow with his friend Raymond, on the verge of being found, Abel has to return clandestinely to France. Therese, together with his two children, is reached by Abel in an Italian town at the border. At night, with a motorboat together with Raymond, starting from Sanremo they reach the French coast in Menton. It seems done, but two French guards see them. A shooting is born. The customs, Therese and Raymond die. Abel escapes with the two children to Nice. From here he asks for help by phone a friend of his in Paris, Reton “La Porte”, owner of a coffee. These talks about it to two of his compendatives: Raoul Fargier, a former break -in now hotel owner, and Jeann, a man without luck and under surveillance, who organize themselves to buy an ambulance and through a certain Nevada find a driver in their place , Eric Stark. Meanwhile, Abel, after finding refuge, at a friend of his Affittacamere, a certain Benazet, must leave the home with the children. Eric accepts the assignment and reaches the Grimaldi post office where thanks to a photo he recognizes Abel. I took children waiting on the beach, at night they travel. Along the road Eric sees a girl, Liliane, while being beaten by her theatrical agent. Eric descends, asks for explanations and puts the attacker out of the game. He beats the girl who was to go to Paris in the car and tells her a story to justify the presence of Abel and the children, then she makes her wear a nursing shirt so as not to give the eye. Liliane, however, sees Abel’s machine gun and iced. Two hours by car from Paris Eric makes petrol. Liliane would like to call someone but think again. They start again, but in the morning they are stopped at a checkpoint. Eric shows his documents. The guard also finds Liliane, asks what the patient had, convinces himself and passes them. Meanwhile, Benazet receives the visit of the police who arrest him for hosting Abel without registering it. Liliane, while he does the tests at the theater, receives the visit of Eric to whom he asks for information about Abel, the children, his wife and … the machine gun showing that he understood that the story story was false. Eric to be forgiven the door for dinner and explains to her that she is a criminal, however she is in love. The next day Eric procures a passport in Abel and offers him to work together. Abel, grateful but mindful of Raymond’s death, refuses. Meanwhile, Fargier receives a visit of an inspector looking for Abel. Abel explains to Eric that he has a plan why he needs money. So he visits a receiver his acquaintance, Gibelin, enriched with his blows, and subtracts 5 million francs. Some time after a private police officer who knows that Abel is a guest of Eric, he is discovered. For this reason, Abel goes to the investigation agency and forces his head to make those who paid him to look for him come to him. It is Gibelin that wanting to renently his money had known Eric from Fargier who had sold Abel to the police. Abel then kills Gibelin first then Fargier. Meanwhile, the police convince Reton to collaborate. He then goes to Eric that running away for the stairs and being wounded in the legs he gives Abel to escape. In the hospital Liliane visits Eric, happy with the confirmation of her love. In Abel, all that remains is Jeannt who, however, without means, cannot do anything for him. By now on the edge of the company and without his children Abel hunted he is soon arrested, convicted and executed.
