Serhiy Petrovych Breus (in Ukrainian: Sergey Breus , born the in Brovary) is a Ukrainian swimmer specializing in butterfly events, especially over 50 meters.
In 2005, Sergiy Breus won the bronze medal on 50 m butterfly at the world championships, preceded by the South African Roland Schoeman and the American Ian Crocker [ first ] .
The following year, he took second place at the world swimming championships in a small pool still on 50 m butterfly, behind the Australian Matthew Welsh [ 2 ] . Same result in 2008, during the world swimming championships in small pool, where he failed in front of another Australian, Adam Pine [ 3 ] .
At the European Basin European Championships, he won the title over 50 m butterfly in 2004 [ 4 ] and 2006. In 2008, he was satisfied with money, beaten by Serbian Milorad čavić [ 5 ] .
In small pool, he took part in the Ukrainian relay which ranks second twice in 2004 and 2005 [ 6 ] On the 4 × 50 m nods relay, each time beaten by the German relay.
Sergiy Breus participates in the 2008 Olympic Games, during which he was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 meters butterfly [ 7 ] .
He also participated in the Universiades on several occasions: in 2003, he won the money over 50 m butterfly, behind his compatriot Andriy Serdinov [ 8 ] ; In 2005, he produced double 50 m – 100 m butterfly [ 9 ] ; In 2007, he won gold over 50 m butterfly and bronze over 100 m butterfly and on the 4 × 100 m nods relay.
