The Stade Ahmed-Zabana (in Arabic : Ahmed Zubana Stadium ), is a Municipal Omnisports stadium whose capacity has been 32,000 seats since the installation of seats in 2013 [ first ] , and coated in artificial lawn.

The construction of the stadium began in 1955 under the auspices of the mayor of Oran, Henri Fouques-Duparc, in the Lyautey district of El Hamri with a capacity of 40,000 seats. Managed since the country’s independence by OPOW, the stadium has benefited from several renovation operations. During the 1974-1975 season, he was coated in synthetic lawn.

In 2019, the Algerian Ministry of Sports decided again the lawn of the Zabana stadium into natural lawn, in preparation for the organization of the African Nations Championship 2022 [ 4 ] as well as those of the Mediterranean Games of 2022 [ 5 ] .

Before the independence of Algeria, the Ahmed-Zabana stadium which was the largest stadium in the country housed most of the important and international meetings.
