The End Is the Beginning Is the End is a single of the American rock group The Smashing Pumpkins, composed for the soundtrack of the film Batman Et Robin . The maxi was released in two editions: the first with different instrumental versions of the song then a second comprising various remixes. The single is awarded the 1998 Grammy Awards in the Best Hard-Rock performance category ^{[ first ]} .

Although this single has been little sold on American territory, it still manages to rise to the top of the 10 largest sales of the Australian and English charts. Following this failure, the group stopped playing the song in concert in 1997, when in 2008, the producers of the film Watchmen: Guardians decide to put The Beginning Is the End Is The Beginning , a slower and less rock version, in the background of their trailer. The single starts a second life reaching the top 100 MP3 sales on the iTunes Music Store and is again played on stage ^{[ 2 ]} .

The clip, directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, was appointed four times to the MTV Video Music Awards 1997.
