The one who could not love ( The one who couldn’t love ), is a Mexican telenovela broadcast in 2011 by Televisa.

Ana Paula lives in Chiapas where she studied to become a nurse. Her dedication to sick people came to her when she took care of her sick mother throughout her long agony. She is about to obtain her diploma when she meets Bruno, the lawyer for Rogelio Montero. Bruno offers him a job: treating his boss who became paralytic following an accident. He is nailed in a wheelchair. The salary is correct if she takes the work in order to financially support her aunt Rosaura, who is, for her and her brother Miguel, as a mother since their childhood.

Ana Paula arrives in the “Hacienda del Fuerte” to take care of Rogelio. She is surprised to discover that he is a man full of resentments and bitter especially because Vanessa, her fiancée, superficial, left her after the accident.
In the Hacienda also lives Cynthia, Rogelio’s sister, who is in fact retained there by force by her brother to take care of him. In exchange she can keep her lifestyle. To escape boredom, she begins an affair with Efraín, the foreman of the Hacienda. Efrain really falls in love with her. But she only uses it for her pleasure. With them also lives their nanny, Maria, who has always acted as a loving mother for Rogelio and Cynthia, and who would not be able to leave them.

The arrogance of Rogelio and his bad humor make work with him so difficult for Ana Paula that, one day, she decides to leave. She has an accident in the river but is saved by Gustavo Durán, a beautiful engineer like a heart and good. They fall in love with each other but their projects are upset when Gustavo has an accident with his father and Ana Paula believes that he is dead.
Rogelio also fell in love with Ana Paula. This is why he sends Bruno to his search to ask him to return to the Hacienda. At first, she refused but after Miguel caused an accident that could send her to prison for life. Rogelio then proposed to help him if Ana Paula agrees to marry him. To help her brother, she agrees to sacrifice herself and marry Rogelio.
Gustavo returns to seek Ana Paula but Rosaura, considering the marriage of his niece with Rogelio as the solution to all his financial problems, decides to lie to Gustavo, telling him that Ana Paula is no longer interested in him. Gustavo feels disappointed and decides to forget it.
After her return to Hacienda, Ana Paula’s life as a wife of Rogelio is a hell, as she had never imagined it. She will face the humiliations and jealousy of Cynthia, she will also have to manage her brother’s problems, as well as the greed of Bruno and Rosaura. And to top it all, she will once again unite with Gustavo, the love of her life, knowing that perhaps, he can never be her …
