The story takes place in Rome under the reign of Hadrian. We follow Lucius Modestuses, architect specializing in the construction of thermal baths, which happens to be on the descending slope. His ideas are deemed too classic and he abandons his wife. Everything changes when one day, bathed in thermal baths, it is sucked under water and is projected in modern Japan. He then discovered unpublished processes and objects which he puts into practice once back in his ancient world. Subsequently, whenever he needs an idea to innovate, he finds himself in a place in Japan corresponding to his needs.

In the second half of the manga, the situation of Lucius changes. In volume 4, he is a prisoner of the modern era. At the same time, we discover the character of Satsuki, a young woman passionate about ancient Rome to the point that she knows how to speak Latin a little.
