He is one of the promoters in France of the concept of negawatt, former president and current vice-president and spokesperson of the association of the same name.   At the end of his studies at the Catholic School of Arts and Crafts in Lyon, Thierry Salomon founded in 1978 and directed the Gefosat association until January 2005 [ first ] (member of the CLER network), which in France and in the southern countries is working to promote renewable energies and energy savings. Since 2001 to early 2020, he has been co-founder and management of Izuba Energies [ 2 ] , a cooperative company (SCOP) which carries out energy optimization studies (energy mastery, bioclimatic, renewable energies) and develops software specialized in helping the design of buildings and neighborhoods by their dynamic energy simulation and The evaluation of their environmental impact (Pleiades) and the analysis of energy consumption (dialogy). Thierry Salomon intervenes mainly on energy studies, research and development, training and assistance to project management, from building to eco-district. Between 2003 and 2014, Thierry Salomon was president of the Negawatt association, which brings together more than a thousand members, including more than four hundred French energy experts and practitioners, all committed to an energy future based on the concept of Negawatt (Energy saved by an approach of sobriety and energy efficiency) and on a proactive recourse to renewable energies. Since 2014, he has been vice-president and spokesperson for the association [ 3 ] . Within this association, Thierry Salomon coordinated the work of the team of experts concerning the development of energy scenarios published by the association in 2003, 2006, and in September 2011, and participated in the work of the Grenelle de l ‘environment. Member of the “group of experts” of the debate on the energy transition which takes place in France in 2013, he was a referent within this group on the “sobriety and efficiency” theme. Under its presidency, the action of the Negawatt association was awarded in 2007 by the European Prize Eurosolar. He is regularly expressed in the media on energy themes [ 3 ] , [ 4 ] , [ 5 ] , [ 6 ] , in particular by taking positions against energy waste [ 7 ] , fossil fuels and nuclear power [ 8 ] , [ 9 ] . Thierry Salomon is co -author of the book The Home of the Negawatts (Au editions Terre Vivante) which, with more than 50,000 copies, is a benchmark guide for good daily energy practices.
