At XIV It is A century, according to a legend, under the leadership of the widow of a lord of Lisa, named Bianca Maria, the refugees of Lisa founded Villa-Nova around a source, in Murgana, the current fountain of the village. In 2020, the town had 403 inhabitants [ Note 3 ] , increased by 13.52%compared to 2014 (Corse-du-Sud: +6.04%, France excluding Mayotte: +13%).
