The band is also close to two outlaw women, Ann Bassett and his sister Josie Bassett, whose ranch near Browns Park has often served as a rear base in the gang.

All gang members had become outlawed as a result of the action of the large cattle owners, who had ruined them by stealing their land or preventing them from accessing water points and essential markets The survival of their small farms [ 2 ] .

The gang claimed to make every effort to refrain from killing people, and Cassidy boasted of never having killed a single man or a single woman in all his career. However, these claims concerning the band are false. Kid Curry, George Curry, Will Carver and other gang members killed many people during their run. Kid Curry alone killed 9 lawyers when he was part of the gang, as well as two civilians during shootings, becoming the most dreaded member of the band. Elzy Lay killed two other police officers following a robbery, in which he was injured, arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. “Flat-Nose” George Curry killed at least two representatives of the law, before being killed himself by representatives of the law of the county of Grand, in Utah.

The band was also closely associated with women outlaws Ann Bassett and Josie Bassett, whose Ranch near Browns Park often supplied the outlaws in fresh and livestock horses. The two girls Bassett had romantic relationships with several gang members, and the two sometimes accompanied the gang to one of their hiding places, called “Robbers Roost”. Associations with breeders like these in the region have enabled the Gang a considerable mobility, giving them easy supplies of fresh horses and provision, and a place to hide for a night or two.

At 1 a.m. , Cassidy, Sundance Kid, Harvey Logan and Elzy Lay robbed a Pacific Union train near Wilcox, Wyoming. They wore masks made of white towels, probably stolen in a Harvey House restaurant. In this heist, they stole between $ 30,000 and $ 60,000. The gang then separated, a simple ploy to get rid of their pursuers, and many fled to New Mexico. THE , gang members have shone a train near Folsom, new Mexico, in the absence of Cassidy. The pursuit by a troop led by the Sheriff Ed Farr led to two shootings, during which the Sheriff Farr and two assistants were killed. The member of the Gang Sam Ketchum was injured and died in detention. Elzy Lay, one of the closest friends of Cassidy and co -founder of the Wild Bunch band, was also injured and was also arrested.
