Barumini It is an Italian municipality of 1 178 inhabitants of the province of South Sardinia, in the historical sub-region of Marmilla. Su nuraxi The territory was inhabited since the Nuragic period, as evidenced by the very important Sul Nuraxi site. In the Middle Ages Barumini belonged to the judgment of Arborea and was part of the curator of the Marmilla, of which it was the capital. After the battle of Sanluri (1409) he passed under the Aragonese domination, joining the Kingdom of Sardinia, and became a fiefdom, which in 1541 was then incorporated into the barony of Las Porssas, assigned to Azore Zapata. In 1839, with the suppression of the feudal system, the country was redeemed to the last feudal lord, Lorenzo Zapata Spiga Vivaldi Marquis of Las Porssas, to become a municipality administered by a mayor and a city council.
