L’ Arcieparchia by Aleppo dei Melchiti (in latino: Archdiocesis Aleppensis Oh Beroeensis Greek Melkitarum ) is a metropolitan headquarters without suffragan of the Greek-Melchite Catholic Church in Syria. In 2020 it had 18,000 baptized. He is lined with the Arcieparca Georges Masri.

The arcieparchy extends its jurisdiction on the Syrian governments of Aleppo, Idlib, al-Raqqa, deir el-zor and hassaké (or djéziré).

Archieparchiale headquarters is the city of Aleppo, where the cathedral of the sleeping of the Virgin Mary is located.

The territory is divided into 12 parishes.

The Melchita di Aleppo community is one of the oldest in the region. The liver of Berea (ancient name of Aleppo) dates back to the fourth century and was elevated to the rank of Arcieparchy in the 6th century.

The Greek-Catholic Archieparchy officially born from the division that produced itself in 1724 between the community that formally declared the union with Rome and the community that instead remained under the influence of Constantinople. Already previously, the Greco-Orthodox community of Aleppo had shown sympathies for Catholicism and some bishops, on a personal capacity, had made a profession of Catholic faith: among these Gregory in 1698, Gennadio in about 1700, and Gerasimos, the first bishop with which The current series of the Aleppini Catholic Arcieparchi begins.

In 1790 the Arcieparchy became a metropolitan headquarters without suffragegane.

The persecution to which the Catholic community was subjected to forced the arcieparca and most of the faithful to take refuge in Lebanon. Only in 1830 with the official recognition by the Ottoman authorities, the Greek-Catholic Melchiti could return to Aleppo: Gregorios Chaiata was the first archieparca to be able to reside permanently in Aleppo, after almost a century of exile. It was in this period that the cathedral was built.

The Arcieparca brings the titles of Aleppo, Seleucia and Cirro. The title of Seleucia was added in 1844 to justify the rank of Arcieparca; Cirro was added in 1869 following the entertainment of his jurisdiction on Killis, in whose vicinity there is ancient Cirro, where a group of Greek Orthodox asked to be able to join the Catholic Church.

There are four arcieparchi of Aleppo elevated to the Padriarchate of Antioch of the Melchiti: Maximos II Hakim in 1760, Maximos III Mazloum in 1833, Kyrillos VIII Geha in 1903 and Dimitrios I Cadi in 1919.

The periods of vacancies not exceeding 2 years or not historically ascertained are omitted.
