Audi A1 – Wikipedia
L’ Audi A1 (Internal Project Name Type 8x ) [2] It is a 2 -volume sedan compact of the B segment, produced by the German car manufacturer Audi since 2010.
Presentation [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
The A1 is a compact two -volume car and three doors that Audi has created mainly to counter the success of Mini, Citroën DS3 and Alfa Romeo Mito. [3] [4] [5] Made his first appearance through the concept Metroproject Quattro In 2007 at the Tokyo Motor Show. [6]
Sales of the first model began in Europe in the summer of 2010. The presentation in Italy officially took place in September 2010. [7] [8]
Profile [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
The final model was officially presented on March 2, 2010 at the Geneva Automobile Motor Show. The engines available at launch were the 1.4 TFSI 122 HP in version with emissions to 122 g/km and 119 g/km and the 1.6 TDI 105 HP. In summer 2010 the 86 HP 1.2 TFSI was introduced. In December 2010 the 1.4 TFSI sports variant was launched, with a power of 185 HP, S-Tronic gearbox. In June 2010 the 90 HP 1.6 TDI was put on the market which adapts the range to the needs of new drivers thanks to the favorable weight/power ratio. In August 2011 the 143 HP 2.0 TDI with 6 -speed manual transmission makes its debut, the purpose of which is mainly to create commercial competition at the Mini Cooper SD. In October 2011 the S-Tronic automatic transmission on the 1.6 TDI 90 HP was introduced, which fills the gap of a diesel engine with automatic transmission. The car was presented with a particular red two -tone coloring with silver rushes in contrast, a solution similar to that adopted by Citroën with the 2003 C3 Pluriel model, in this case, however, the uprights cannot be removed.
Technique [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
The platform used is the PQ25, the same used by Volkswagen Polo Mk5 (2009) and Seat Ibiza Mk4 (2008). It is an evolution of the previous pq24 platform. The front suspensions are in Macpherson scheme, while on the rear we find an interconnected bridge structure. The traction is front with start & stop (except for the 1.4 185 HP TFSI and for the 1.6 TDI 90 HP S-Tronic) and energy recovery device during the braking phase.
Change [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
The Audi A1 is available with a 5 or 6-speed manual gearbox, or with an S-Tronic robotic automatic transmission, a RE-RAPE-RSG reworking of the DSG produced by Volkswagen.
A1 Sportback [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
On November 18, 2011 the 5 -door variant was presented, called A1 Sportback. The Sportback is slightly wider than the 3 doors, the rear upright is less driven and inclined to encourage habitability and the height in the back, while the length remains substantially unchanged. [9]
Audi A1 Quattro [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
In the autumn of 2012, the Audi offered a limited series to 333 specimens in a special edition called A1 four . This set -up was designed as the top and sports model of the A1 standard with a 2.0 -liter petrol engine with 256 hp turbocharger of power paid at 6000 rpm and 350 Nm of torque paid between 2500 at 4500 rpm. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes place in 5.7 seconds and the maximum speed stands at 245 km/h. The standard equipment includes all -wheel drive, xenon headlights, nappa leather interiors with sports seats, 18 -inch white alloy wheels. The model was available only in the three -door version and only with black and white paint. The original price was around € 49,900. [ten]
Restyling del 2015 [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
In January 2015, the entire A1 range was subjected to a restyling. All engines meet the Euro 6 anti -pollution rule, first of all for two 1.0 TFSI ultra and 1.4 TDI ultra -three -cylinder engines used by the A1. The 185 HP 1.4 TFSI turbo is replaced by the 192 HP 1.8 TFSI. In addition, a new electromechanical power steering is now used. Aesthetically it differs for the new front and rear lights with LEDs and for the lower part of the front and rear bumpers which now have a more angular and square line than the old A1 which were more round and simple. [11]
S1 [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
Audi S1 is, except for the special limited version A1 four, The most powerful variant of the A1. Anticipated by the Audi A1 Sport Quattro in 2014 and presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it is based on the 2015 A1 restyling and is available for both three doors and Sportback. The name S1 had been used in the past by the Audi for another model, in the competition and rally version of the Audi Sport Quattro.
The S1 uses the 2.0 TFSI engine of 231 HP and 370 Nm of torque, the same as the Volkswagen Golf GTI seventh series and in common with the Seat Leon Cupra, but on the Seat the engine delivers 280 HP. The S1 is equipped with the all -wheel drive four and a 6 -speed manual gearbox. The external dimensions are increased to better adapt the car to the greater power; The length grows up to 3,975 millimeters, the width affects 1,746 mm and the height reaches 1,423 mm, while the step remains unchanged at 2,469 millimeters. The empty weight grows at 1390 kg due to the greater weight of the engine, all -wheel drive and the various mechanical organs. 0 to 100 is covered in 5.8 seconds and the maximum speed is self -heaven at 250 km/h.
The all -wheel drive works with a hydraulic clutch system with slats on the rear axle. The blocking of the electronic differential brakes the internal wheels to ensure better handling. Some components of the braking system such as brake discs have been increased due to greater power. The electromechanical power steering is more sporty. The supports of the front frame have been modified and a suspension is provided in the rear which instead of the Torcente bridge has a suspension with four arms. With the addition of the all -wheel drive and the changes to the frame in the rear, the load volume was reduced to the 60 -liter standard A1 standards, going to 210 with the seats in use and 860 liters with the backs of the rear seats cut down.
It is aesthetically distinguished by a small fake gray plastic rear extractor that integrates the characteristic four rear chromed exhaust terminals, two -tone paint, specific alloy wheels of large diameter exclusive for the S1 and for the front bumpers with a wider grid and a Reverse and sporty rear bumper than the other models of the A1 range. The S1 is located among the sports compacts as are the Opel Corsa and OPC (207 HP), Mini John Cooper Works (231 HP), Citroën DS3 Racing (207 HP) and the Volkswagen Polo R WRC road (220 HP), but in the Its category is the only one to have all -wheel drive while the others are all front -wheel drive. The second generation of Audi A1 takes advantage of the Sqm A0 Platform (shared with VW Polo and Seat Ibiza), which improves the internal space. The 3 -door version and the diesel variants are no longer available, remaining the only 5 doors with petrol power supply. The passenger compartment becomes more technological thanks to Audi Virtual Cockpit, digital instrumentation, infotainment compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay and 4G LTE connectivity. Among the technologies of this model, active security systems are available including Front Assist and City Emergency Braking, automatic braking with pedestrian recognition. [14]
Engines [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
Unlike the previous model, the second generation of Audi A1 does not offer diesel engines.
