Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde It is the eighth album of the US Folk Rock Group The Byrds published in 1969 by Columbia Records.

The album sees the band I justify simple country rock songs with more experimental psychedelic songs, giving the disc a double stylistic figure opposed to each other which alludes to the duplicity of the title of the work. [first] In addition, the album was the first byrds album in the new formation consisting of Clarence White (guitar), Gene Parsons (drums), John York (bass), and Roger McGuinn (guitar). Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde It is unique in the band’s record catalog as it is the only album in which McGuinn sings as a solo item in every track. [2]

The album reached position number 153 in the US ranking Billboard 200 and number 15 in the British Official Albums Chart. [3] [4] A previous single, Bad Night at the Whiskey (B-side Drug Store Truck Drivin’ Man ), was published on January 7, 1969 but was unable to enter the ranking. [5] However, a second 45 laps not included in the album released shortly after the release of Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde , a cover of Lay Lady Lay of Bob Dylan, reached position number 132 of the ranking of Billboard . [6] [7] Despite the favorable criticisms of the time, Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde It was the album that obtained the worst placement in the United States in the byrds discography. [8]
