Everett Edward Carpentent Jr. (EVERETTE EDWARD CARPENTER, Jr., March 3, 1981-) is a racing driver in the United States. The carpenter is the Jetchuko of the founder of the Indy Racing League, Tony George, and is currently participating in the IZOD IndyCar series from Ed Carpentent Racing.
initial [ edit ]
Carpenter, who has a glorious background with a Mijet car, will participate in the Infinity Pro Series in 2002. In addition to Cinden Racing, the series ranked third and the highest in the race. The following year, he moved to A.J. Fight Enterprises and won the most traditional Fireston Freedom 100 in the series. In the latter half of the year, he made his debut from the PDM racing to the Indy Racing League.
Indy car series [ edit ]
In 2004, Carpenter enters the IndyCar from Chiber Racing. The teammates were experienced Alex Baron, struggling to fit their pace, and was the highest in the season. In 2005, his stepfather, Tony George, established a vision racing and immediately contracts with the carpenter. However, Carpenter’s scoring was 10th and the ranking was 18th.
On March 26, 2006, the carpenter was caught in a big crash with Paul Dana in the warm -up of Toyota Indy 300. Dana died shortly due to injury. The carpenter was broken, but was discharged the next day. On April 22, he returned to the series in the twin link to the match. Watkins Glen in the 5th round was a rain race, and while other drivers were slick tires, he replaced it with rain tires and finished in sixth place.
In 2007, Vision Racing launched a third machine, but was the same as the previous year. Carpenter crashed in five of the 17 races, ranking 15th and the lowest in the vision racing. In 2008, veteran Thomas Shakers could not contract with the team, so the carpenter’s teammates were only A.J. Fight IV. At the beginning of the season, I often drove in a position where I could win, but the result was hard to leave, and the season ended with a flaming crash at Chicagoland Speedway.
In 2011, he joined Sarah Fisher Racing and participated in nine races, including St. Petersburg. [first] 。 He won his first victory in the same year Kentucky Indy 300. The race was a close -up victory of 0.0098 seconds behind Dario Frankitti.
In 2012, he launched Ed Carpentent Racing and participated in the Indy Car Series as a team owner and driver. He won his first championship in the final round of the same year, Fontana, and won the pole position in the 2013 Indy 500 the following year.
He also won the pole position in the 2018 Indy 500.
