Eddie Campbell (August 10, 1955) He is a Scottish cartoonist and designer who now lives in Australia.

Probably better known as the illustrator and the publisher of From Hell (Written by Alan Moore), Campbell is also the creator of semi-autobiographical stories Alec , and of Bacchus (Also known as Deadface ), a sarcastic adventure series on the few of the Greeks who survived the present day. His graphic novel The Fate of the Artist , who jokingly investigates Campbell’s sudden disappearance, was published in May 2006 by First Second Books. His last graphic novel, The Black Diamond Detective Agency , also published by the First Second Books, is given to be released for the spring of 2007.

His style with a rough trait was influenced by the impressionists, illustrators of the age of “liberated writing” such as Phil May, Charles Dana Gibson, John Leech and George du Maurier, and cartoonist as Milton Caniff and Frank Frazetta (in particular his strip Johnny Comet ). His way of writing was compared to that of Jack Kerouac and Henry Miller. [first]
