Shakugan NO SHANA It is an anime series composed of three television seasons, five OAV episodes and various extra short films. The episodes are based on the Light Novel homonymous series written by Yashichirō Takahashi, with the illustrations made by Noizi Itō. Produced by the animated study J.C.Stoff, the episodes are directed by Takashi Watanabe, written by Yasuko Kobayashi and with the Character Design edited by Mai Otsuka, which was inspired by the original one of Ito. The direction of the sound was curated by Jin Aketagawa and the soundtrack was composed of Kow Otani. The story focuses on Yuji Sakai, a high school clerk that is inadvertently involved in an ancient conflict between the forces of balance and imbalance of existence. In the meantime, he becomes a friend of a fighter for the faction of the balance named “Shana”.

The first season of the television series, consisting of 24 episodes, was broadcast in Japan from 6 October 2005 to 23 March 2006 on TV Kanagawa and subsequently also on TVS, Chiba TV, MBS TV, TV Aichi and Animax. A DVD entitled Shakugan NO Shana: Prelude to Shana and containing promotional material for the anime was published in September 2005. ^[first] The season was later published for the Japanese video video market by Geneon in eight DVDs between January and August 2006. ^{[2] [3]} Two DVD boxes each containing 12 episodes were published respectively in January and February 2011. ^{[4] [5]} A Blu-Ray Disc (BD) box with all the episodes of the first season was published in June 2011. ^[6] An OAV episode entitled Shakugan NO SHANA SP , placed chronologically after the events of episode 13, was published on December 8, 2006. ^[7]

The same staff who produced the first season of Shakugan NO SHANA He also took care of the subsequent projects later. ^{[8] [9] [ten]} The second season of 24 episodes, entitled Shakugan NO SHANA SECOND ( Shakugan no Shana II ^? ) , was broadcast from 5 October 2007 to 28 March 2008 on MBS and subsequently on CBC, TBS, Bandai Channel and Animax. The series was published in eight DVDs by Geneon between January and August 2008. ^{[11] [twelfth]} Two 12 episodes DVD boxes each were published respectively in February and in April 2011. ^{[13] [14]} A BD box was published in September 2011. ^[15] In the Philippines, Tv5 was the first network to broadcast the second season in Southeast Asia from 10 November to 25 December 2008. A 4-episode OAV series entitled Shakugan NO SHANA S It was published in DVD and BD from 23 October 2009 to 29 September 2010. ^{[16] [17] [18]} The third and final season always from 24 episodes, entitled Shakugan NO SHANA III -Final- ( Shakugan no Shana III -Final- ^? ) , ^{[19] [20]} It was broadcast from 8 October 2011 to 24 March 2012 on Tokyo MX, and then broadcast on Chiba TV, TV Kanagawa, MBS, CBC, AT-X and BS11. The series was published on the Japanese video video market by Geneon in 8 DVD/BD from December 2011 to July 2012. ^{[21] [22]} Funimation has acquired the rights for publication in North America of the second and third season and the OAV series. ^{[23] [24]}
