In the 1999-2000 season, Crotone played group B of the Serie C1 championship, wins it with 69 points obtaining for the first time in its history the promotion to Serie B, the Ancona by winning the playoffs obtains the second promotion. Guided by the Sardinian Antonello Cuccureddu The Pythagoreans play a super tournament, they win the first round with 35 points, get 34 on the return, clearly detaching all the others. Andrea Deflorio with 28 goals clearly wins the title of top scorer of the C1 series, the Calabrian team scores 65 goals, twelve more than Ascoli who has the second best attack. Two other rossoblùs also go in double figures, Firmino Elia with 13 goals and Rubens Pasino with 10 centers. In the Italian Cup of Serie C, the rossoblù win the qualification group Q by overcoming Catanzaro, Messina, Castrovillari and Acireale, in the 32 they exceed Fidelis Andria, in the round of 16 they exceed Catania, in the quarterfinals they are eliminated by Lodigiani.
