Hai Laoze (Ebisawa, but 1948-) is a Japanese historian. Specializes in the history of Japan (especially the history of the manor, the history of Paddy fields, East Asian paddy fields). Waseda University Emeritus Professor.

Born in Tokyo in 1948. In 1974, graduated from Waseda University, Faculty of Literature, Department of History, Japanese History. Graduated from Waseda University Graduate School of Literature, graduated from the Graduate School of Literature, and dropped out of the doctoral course. In 1980, he became a researcher at the establishment of the Oita Prefectural Education Agency History and Folklore Museum, and was a researcher at the Oita Prefectural Usakazu Tadashi Hill Hill Hill Hill (currently Oita Prefectural History Museum), which opened the following year. In 1987, he became a full -time lecturer at Waseda University, Faculty of Letters, and became an assistant professor in 1990 and a professor in 1995. In 2019, he retired from Waseda University.

As a student, there are Kenichiro Kubo (Professor of Waseda University Literature Academy), Tokuro Takagi (Professor of Waseda University Education and General Academic Academy), Katsuyuki Shimizu (Professor of the Faculty of Commerce, Meiji University), and Satoshi Kuroda (Professor of Kanazawa University).
