Ryujiro Ishida (Ryu Ishida, January 4, 1904 [first] -January 11, 1979 [first] ) Is a Japanese geographer. Professor Emeritus Hitotsubashi University. Chairman of the Japan Geographical Society (1966-67).
Born as the sixth son of the Mugiya family, who runs a liquor sales dealer in Komatsu -cho, Nomi -gun, Ishikawa Prefecture (currently Komatsu -shi) [first] 。 Completed the high school at the Junior High School at the age of 14 [first] , Enroll in Ishikawa Prefectural Komatsu Junior High School [first] 。 Enrolled in the 4th High School Science Course in 1921 [first] , Graduated in 1924 [first] 。 Graduated from Tokyo Imperial University Faculty of Science in 1927 [first] 。 While at school, he received the guidance of Naokata Yamazaki, Taro Tsujimura, Fumio Tada. In April of the same year, Ryujiro Ishida and renamed the name of Ryujiro Ishida. [first] 。 In the same year, he became a lecturer at Tokyo University of Folk University [first] 。 Lecturer of the same department [first] , Professor [first] In 1949, Hitotsubashi University’s Faculty of Sociology [first] [2] 。 In 1967, retirement [first] ,Honorary professor [first] 。
In 1925, the Japan Society of Geographical Society was founded, and when the magazine “Geographical Review” was launched, he became an editor in charge of book reviews, academic magazines, and editorials. [3] 。 In his later years, he studied Japanese geography history. The student of the seminar is Hiroshi Sawada, the chairman [4] 。
