Maud COUTEREELS (Sambreville, 21 May 1986) is a Belgian footballer, defender of the lilac, of which he is also captain, and midfielder of the Belgian national team.

Maud Coutels began playing football in the standard FC Onoz, Sambreville football club, his municipality of origin [2] . In 2001 he moved to the Etaille Rouge de Belgrade, a militant company in the Division 3, the third national series, and had headquarters in nearby Namur [2] .

In 2003 he passed to the standard Liegi, a company in which he remained for twelve consecutive seasons. With the standard he made his debut in Division 1, the national top series, and won the Belgian championship in seven seasons and the Belgium Cup in three editions [3] . With the League Standard he played in UEFA Women’s Champions League for six seasons, also scoring a brace in the 10-0 victory over the Welsh of the Cardiff Metropolitan in the first round of the 2014-2015 edition [4] .

In 2016 he moved to France to Lille, a militant in the French Division 2, reaching his compatriots Jana Cornyn and Silke Demeyere, who had signed with Lilla a few weeks earlier [2] . Moving to the lilac, he left his job in the Belgian police force to become a professional player [5] . The first season ended with the promotion in Division 1, to which Coutels contributed with seven goals in the twenty -three appearances in the championship [6] . In the following two seasons in Division 1 Coutels the team of captain of the team launched, which obtained a sixth place at the debut in the top flight, followed, however, from the relegation in the following season, although the final of the French Cup had been reached, lost From Olympique Lyon [6] .

Maud Coutels was part of the youth selections of Belgium, playing two games with the Under-17 and eighteen selection with the Under-19 selection.

Couttels made his debut in the Belgium national team on August 31, 2005 in the game lost by Belgium against Finland and valid for the qualifications of the 2007 World Championship. The selector of the major national team, Ann Noë, employed it throughout the qualifying phase, making it A firm point of the team. It was then convened for the 2016 Algarve Cup [ten] , first edition of the tournament in which Belgium took part, playing all the games of the tournament and creating one of the goals that allowed Belgium to win the final for fifth place against Russia.
