Serie A 2014-2015 (ice hockey)
from Wikipedia, L’Encilopedia Libera.
The Ice Hockey Serie A 2014-2015 , the 81th Italian Maximum Series Championship, was organized by the Italian Sport of Ice Federation and the Italian Ice Hockey Association.
During the summer of 2014, numerous changes were made to the structure of the League, from the number of teams registered to the name of the championship, which returned to the denomination of Serie A. [first]
The season ended with the Asiago Hockey winner of his fifth Scudetto.
The highest championship then returned to calling himself Serie A and was expanded by incorporating the teams (with the exception of Merano, who did not enroll for financial problems) that the previous season had decided to enroll in Inter-National-League. The championship therefore expanded from eight to twelve participants.
Calendar [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
Following the modification of the number of teams (from eight to twelve formations) the formula was also modified: the regular season only had a first leg and a return, [4] With a second phase of the tournament then the teams (which maintained the purchases in the previous phase) were divided into two groups: the first six classified formed the master round, the remaining participants gave birth to the playoff round. In this second phase, there was first a series of challenges (only first leg) between the various formations of the same grouping, later another series of challenges (always just first leg) between the Master’s and playoff round teams. The second phase closed the return races between the various formations of the same grouping.
At the end of these sixteen days of the second phase, the placements for the playoff scoreboard were therefore decided: the last team classified in the playoff Round ended the season, while the first five teams of the Master Round had access directly to the quarterfinals. The sixth team of the Master Round challenged the penultimate of the playoff Round in the playoff (Best of Three), while the remaining four teams of the Playoff Round played in turn of the play -offs (always in the best of the three races) to secure a place in the Scudetto playoffs. All the playoff races were then played in the best of the seven meetings. [5]
Transfer card [ change | Modifica Wikitesto ]
Following the election of the new federal president, the Federation imposed new rules for this season, in particular with the intention of growing the national hockeistic movement. Among these, a maximum limit of alleged foreign players was set identified in just 4 units, thus descending drastically from the 9 that can be deployed the previous year. Precisely for this reason some companies (Valpellice and Asiago) complained of the imposition of this rule (the Torrese team for the scarcity of Italian school players from the Piedmontese area to which he could rely on, while the Altopianese team because of the numerous multi -year contracts in be with foreign players). However, also for the support from the other teams, this rule immediately entered into force.
However, foreign players were not considered those players from the foreign federation also in possession of Italian citizenship and who had played at least 2 consecutive sports seasons (complete) in the Italian championships and which were however in possession (a novelty introduced this season) also of the so -called Unlimited transfer card (to be requested from your belonging federation).
The market for foreign players closed, as usual, on January 31st.
A partial TV coverage of the Serie A is offered on the Rai Sport channels, thanks to the agreement that provides for the live broadcast of one match every Thursday of Elite a Itas Cup. [6]
Radio coverage was guaranteed by the transmission “All hockey minute by minute”, broadcast by several regional broadcasters. [7]

The Egna has an appeal by asking for the repetition of the race-1 (finished with the penalties) as the referees make an overtime of only 5 minutes play instead of the canons 20 ‘of the playoffs, the appeal will not be accepted as the Federation will explain that these games were not part of the Scudetto playoffs but were races of pre -playoff.
