(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4L’ Tree of vision of life It is a vision described and discussed in the book of Mormon, one of the texts of the saints of the last few days, published by Joseph Smith in 1830. According to Mormon’s book, the vision was received in a dream by the prophet Lehi, and later by his son Nephi, who wrote about it in the first book of Nephi. The vision includes a path that leads to a tree that symbolizes salvation, with an iron rod along the path to which the followers of Jesus can cling to avoid wandering for wells or waters that symbolize the streets of sin. The vision also includes a large building in which the wicked ones look at the righteous and deride them. The vision is said to symbolize the spiritual condition of humanity, and it is a well -known and cited story within murmurism. A Mormon commentator reflects a common mormon belief that vision is “one of the richest, flexible and profound parts of the symbolic prophecy contained in the works [Scriptures]”. [first] The vision is similar to the second vision told by Smith’s father Joseph Smith Sr. before the publication of Mormon’s book. The vision of Joseph Smith Sr. contained a tree with delicious fruits, a path and a large building where the wicked ones looked at the right with contempt. However, Smith’s vision contained a rope rather than an iron rod, and there were other small differences. [2] Because of similarity, layoffs are postuulating that Smith’s dream is the source of the vision of the tree of life. [3] Smith’s dream was mentioned, for the first time, by his wife Lucy Mack Smith after the publication of Mormon’s book, and some murmonism scholars suggest that the text of Mormon’s book may have influenced Lucy’s story, rather than that vice versa. Other apologetic scholars, such as Hugh Niley, postulate that she and Smith Sr. simply had the same archetypal vision. [4] (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Image of vision in an annual commemoration of the Mormons a Hill Cumorah Pageant According to Mormon’s book, the prophet Lehi received this vision in a dream during his exile in the Selvaggia Araba region shortly after 600 BC. He woke up and told her to his children as described in the eighth chapter of the first book by Nepi. The son of her, Nephi, recorded the vision on the golden tables, and later had the same vision, even if much more detailed, which he later recorded in the same book. [5] Nefi’s vision also includes his own interpretation. In the vision, she reported having seen several objects, including the following: A tree with white fruits, [6] which symbolizes the love of God and, by extension, atonement. [7] A narrow and perilous path, [8] symbolizing the path of salvation. An iron rod, which runs along the path, [9] which symbolizes the “Word of God”. [ten] Standing at the rod of iron refers to the close adherence to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which allows everyone to avoid the temptations of the world or to move away from the narrow and narrow path. A fog of darkness, [11] Symbolizing the temptations of Satan. [twelfth] A large and spacious building, [13] which symbolizes the pride of the world. [14] The many inhabitants of the building laugh at those who are on the narrow and narrow path. She learns from the vision that her children Sam and Nephi, and his wife Sariah eat the white fruit, thus indicating that they will be saved, [15] While the other two children, Laman and Lemuel, do not eat it. [15] The history of vision is well known among the Mormons and widely cited. The “iron rod” is mentioned specifically referring to the writings or words of the Lord, to convey the importance of listening to the teachings of God. [17] The Mesoamerican art scholar, Julia Guernsey Kappelman does not agree with this association between the Izapa 5 stele and the book of Mormon. Kappelman said that Jakeman’s search does not take into account the cultural context at the base of the Izapa stele in favor of his interpretations and prejudices. [18] ^ Corbin T.
