The Golden Gate University (GGU) is a renowned private university in San Francisco in the US state of California. The main campus is centrally located in the financial district in San Francisco. There are other locations in Seattle and Silicon Valley; The university also offers long -distance courses. [4] The GGU attaches great importance to vocational training in the areas of law, economy, taxes and accounting. [5]

In 1901 the foundation of the YMCA Evening College . [6] It took up today’s name in 1910 after a competition. In 1972 the university received university status. [6]

In addition to Seattle, the university also had locations in Los Angeles, Monterey Bay, Sacramento, San José and Walnut Creek.

In 2017, 5,060 students were enrolled. [7] The university’s foundation assets rose from $ 40.2 million in 2020 by 19% to $ 47.9 million, which was a below-average increase. [3]
