The annual tournament will determine the conference champion of the Division I Atlantic Coast Conference for college baseball. The tournament champion, will receive the league’s automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.[2]The tournament has been held every year but two since 1973, with Clemson winning ten championships, the most all-time. Georgia Tech has won nine championships, and Florida State has won eight titles since their entry to the league in 1992. Recent entrants Virginia Tech, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Louisville have never won the event.Table of ContentsFormat and seeding[edit]Schedule and Results[edit]Schedule[edit]Pool Play[edit]Pool A[edit]Pool B[edit]Pool C[edit]Pool D[edit]Playoffs[edit]Semifinals[edit]Championship Game[edit]All–Tournament Team[edit]References[edit]Format and seeding[edit]The winner of each seven team division and the top ten other teams based on conference winning percentage, regardless of division, from the conference’s regular season were seeded one through twelve. Seeds one and two were awarded to the two division winners. Teams were then divided into four pools of three teams each, with the winners advancing to single elimination bracket for the championship.[3][4]If a 1–1 tie were to occur among all three teams in a pool, the highest seeded team would have advanced to the semifinals.[5] Because of this, seeds 5–12 must win both pool play games to advance to the single-elimination bracket, and seeds 1–4 must only win the game against the winner of the game between the other two teams in the pool to advance. For example, if the 12 seed beats the 8 seed in the first game, then the winner of the 12 seed versus 1 seed advances, and the 8 seed versus 1 seed game has no effect on which team advances. The seeds were announced on May 21, after the final day of conference play.[6]Tiebreakers[5]TeamsRecordTiebreaker 1Tiebreaker 2(7) Georgia Tech(8) North Carolina(9) Florida State15–1515–1515–15GT 4–2UNC 4–2FSU 1–5GT 2–1UNC 1–2—(11) Pittsburgh(12) Clemson13–1613–16PITT 2–0CLEM 0–2Two-way tie broken by combined head-to-head records.Three-way tie broken by combined head-to-head records. If a tie remains after the first tiebreaker, the two-way tiebreaker is used.Schedule and Results[edit]Schedule[edit]Source:[7]GameTime*Matchup#ScoreTelevisionAttendanceReferenceTuesday, May 24111:00 a.m.No. 11 Pittsburgh vs. No 7 Georgia Tech12–6ACCRSN1,895[8]23:00 p.m.No. 10 NC State vs. No. 6 Wake Forest11–8[9]37:00 p.m.No. 12 Clemson vs. No. 8 North Carolina2–93,582[10]Wednesday, May 25411:00 a.m.No. 2 Louisville vs. No. 11 Pittsburgh5–6ACCRSN2,141[11]53:00 p.m.No. 9 Florida State vs. No. 5 Virginia13–38[12]67:00 p.m.No. 3 Miami (FL) vs. No. 10 NC State6–93,579[13]Thursday, May 26711:00 a.m.No. 7 Georgia Tech vs. No. 2 Louisville9–4ACCRSN1,989[14]83:00 p.m.No. 4 Notre Dame vs. No. 9 Florida State5–3[15]97:00 p.m.No. 1 Virginia Tech vs. No. 12 Clemson18–63,049[16]Friday, May 271011:00a.m.No. 5 Virginia vs. No. 4 Notre Dame0–3ACCRSN2,519[17]113:00 p.m.No. 6 Wake Forest vs. No. 3 Miami (FL)16–37[18]127:00 p.m.No. 8 North Carolina vs. No. 1 Virginia Tech10–07,117[19]Saturday, May 28Semifinal 11:00 p.m.No. 8 North Carolina vs. No. 4 Notre Dame7–2ACCN4,912[20]Semifinal 25:00 p.m.No. 11 Pittsburgh vs. No. 10 NC State3–88,360[21]Championship – Sunday, May 29Championship12:00 p.m.No. 10 NC State vs. No. 8 North Carolina5–9ESPN210,500[22]*Game times in EDT. # – Rankings denote tournament seed.Pool Play[edit]Pool A[edit]May 26 7:00 pm Game 9Virginia Tech18–6 ClemsonTruist Field Attendance: 3,049WP: Christian Worley (1–0)BoxscoreLP: Billy Barlow (2–4)HR: Nick Biddison (2); Gavin Cross (1); Tanner Schobel (1); Carson Jones (2)HR: Max Wagner (1); Blake Wright (1); Camden Troyer (1)Pool B[edit]Pool C[edit]May 25 7:00 pm Game 6Miami (FL)6–9 NC StateTruist Field Attendance: 3,579LP: Carson Palmquist (9–4)BoxscoreWP: Matt Willadsen (5–4) Sv: Chris Villaman (11)HR: Yohandy Morales (1); Maxwell Romero, Jr. (1)HR: Tommy White (3); Noah Soles (1)May 27 3:00 pm Game 11Wake Forest16–3 (F/7)Miami (FL)Truist Field Attendance: 2,519WP: Rhett Lowder (11–3)BoxscoreLP: Karson Ligon (6–6)HR: Brendan Tinsman (1); Nick Kurtz (1); Brock Wilken (1); Adam Cecere (2); Jake Reinisch (1); Lucas Costello (1)HR: CJ Kayfus (1)Pool D[edit]Playoffs[edit]SemifinalsFinals 8North Carolina74Notre Dame28North Carolina910NC State511Pittsburgh310NC State8Semifinals[edit]Championship Game[edit]ACC Championship(10) NC State Wolfpackvs.(8) North Carolina Tar HeelsMay 29, 2022 12:00 p.m. (EDT) at Truist Field in Charlotte, North Carolina Team123456789RHENorth Carolina State1000020025111North Carolina26010000x981WP: M.Carlson(3–2) LP: L.Whitaker(2–4)Home runs:NCST: NoneUNC: V.Honeycutt(2)Attendance: 10,500All–Tournament Team[edit]Source:[23]PositionPlayerTeamCBrendan TinsmanWake Forest1BLuJames GrooverNC State2BJeff WehlerPittsburgh3BBrock WilkenWake ForestSSDanny SerrettiNorth CarolinaOFVance Honeycutt (MVP)North CarolinaOFDevonte BrownNC StateOFAngel ZarateNorth CarolinaDHTommy WhiteNC StatePBrandon SchaefferNorth CarolinaPJohn Michael BertrandNorte DameReferences[edit]^ “Baseball Standings”. theacc.com.
