Of the 1,172 municipalities, 18 are provincial capitals.The elections in Trentino – Alto Adige/Südtirol were planned to be held on 3 May, with a second ballot on 17 May,[3] while the elections in Aosta Valley were planned on 17 May, with a second ballot on 31 May,[4] but they were delayed following the coronavirus pandemic.[5][6] In Sicily the elections were planned to be held on 24 May but they were first postponed on 14 June with a second round on 28 June[7] and then they were delayed again sometime between 11 October and 6 December.[8] (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Municipal councillors and mayors ordinarily serve a term of five years.Table of ContentsVoting system[edit]Municipal elections[edit]Overall results[edit]Mayoral election results[edit]See also[edit]References[edit]Voting system[edit]All mayoral elections in Italy in cities with a population higher than 15,000 use the same voting system. Under this system, voters express a direct choice for the mayor or an indirect choice voting for the party of the candidate’s coalition. If no candidate receives at least 50% of votes, the top two candidates go to a second round after two weeks. This gives a result whereby the winning candidate may be able to claim majority support, although it is not guaranteed. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4The election of the City Council is based on a direct choice for the candidate with a preference vote: the candidate with the majority of the preferences is elected. The number of seats for each party is determined proportionally.Municipal elections[edit]Overall results[edit]Majority of each coalition in the municipalities which have a population higher than 15,000 inhabitants:[9]Mayoral election results[edit] Prefectural commissionerRegionCityPopulationIncumbent mayorElected mayor1st round2nd roundSeatsSourceVotes%Votes% Aosta ValleyAosta34,008Fulvio Centoz (PD)Gianni Nuti (Ind.)6,36138.846,79453.34[1] LombardyLecco48,333Virginio Brivio (PD)Mauro Gattinoni (Ind.)10,09641.6710,97850.07[2]Mantua49,403Mattia Palazzi (PD)Mattia Palazzi (PD)16,54670.75——[3] Trentino-Alto AdigeBolzano107,914Renzo Caramaschi (Ind.)Renzo Caramaschi (Ind.)16,12433.9621,58557.18[4]Trento118,288Alessandro Andreatta (PD)Franco Ianeselli (Ind.)31,88554.66——[5] VenetoVenice260,520Luigi Brugnaro (Ind.)Luigi Brugnaro (Ind.)66,75054.14——[6] TuscanyArezzo99,179Alessandro Ghinelli (Ind.)Alessandro Ghinelli (Ind.)23,63847.0823,62054.50[7] MarcheFermo37,119Paolo Calcinaro (Ind.)Paolo Calcinaro (Ind.)14,31471.41——[8]Macerata41,514Romano Carancini (PD)Sandro Parcaroli (Lega)12,11352.78——[9] AbruzzoChieti50,646Umberto Di Primio (FdI)Diego Ferrara (PD)6,18321.5012,40355.85[10] ApuliaAndria99,671Gaetano Tufariello[a]Giovanna Bruno (PD)20,03738.1021,71758.87[11]Trani55,851Amedeo Bottaro (PD)Amedeo Bottaro (PD)20,78565.43——[12] BasilicataMatera60,404Raffaello De Ruggieri (Ind.)Domenico Bennardi (M5S)9,52527.5718,83067.54[13] CalabriaCrotone65,086Tiziana Costantino[b]Vincenzo Voce (Ind.)12,00336.2216,43463.95[14]Reggio Calabria180,369Giuseppe Falcomatà (PD)Giuseppe Falcomatà (PD)35,10937.1744,06958.36[15] SicilyAgrigento58,956Calogero Firetto (UDC)Francesco Miccichè (Ind.)11,56436.6813,15660.43[16]Enna27,004Maurizio Dipietro (IV)[c]Maurizio Dipietro (IV)9,48458.27——[17] SardiniaNuoro36,154Andrea Soddu (Ind.)Andrea Soddu (Ind.)5,06828.848,84167.00[18]See also[edit]References[edit] (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4"},{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
@id":"https://wiki.edu.vn/en/wiki21/#breadcrumbitem
Enzyklopädie"}},{"@type":"ListItem
@id":"https://wiki.edu.vn/en/wiki21/2020-italian-local-elections-wikipedia/#breadcrumbitem
2020 Italian local elections – Wikipedia"}}]}]
