A large part in the promotion push was played by a good loan signing in the form of Uwe Fuchs, scoring 9 goals in 13 league games. It was also Boro’s last season at Ayresome Park after 92 years; they beat Luton Town 2–1 in their final game there on 30 April 1995 to seal the Division One title and the only automatic promotion place in the division that season. John Hendrie had the distinction of scoring the last goals at Ayresome Park, scoring both of Boro’s goals in that game. After the season, Boro relocated to the new 30,000-seat Riverside Stadium on the banks of the River Tees.Final league table[edit]Results[edit]Middlesbrough’s score comes first[1]Legend[edit][edit]DateOpponentVenueResultAttendanceScorers13 August 1994BurnleyH2–023,343Hendrie (2)20 August 1994Southend UnitedA2–05,722Hendrie (2)27 August 1994Bolton WanderersH1–019,570Wilkinson31 August 1994Derby CountyA1–014,659Blackmore3 September 1994WatfordA1–19,478Blackmore11 September 1994SunderlandH2–219,578Moore, Pearson14 September 1994West BromH2–114,878Mustoe, Hignett (pen)17 September 1994Port ValeA1–210,313Pollock25 September 1994Bristol CityA1–08,642Hendrie1 October 1994MillwallH3–017,229Hendrie, Wilkinson, Beard (og)8 October 1994Tranmere RoversH0–118,49715 October 1994Luton TownA1–58,412Whyte23 October 1994PortsmouthA0–07,28129 October 1994Swindon TownH3–117,328Cox, Hendrie, Wilkinson (pen)1 November 1994Oldham AthleticH2–115,929Moore, Hignett5 November 1994Grimsby TownA1–28,488Hignett (pen)20 November 1994Wolverhampton WanderersH1–019,953Hendrie26 November 1994Charlton AthleticA2–010,019Hendrie, Pollock3 December 1994PortsmouthH4–017,185Wilkinson (2), Hignett (2)6 December 1994ReadingA1–110,301Wilkinson (pen)10 December 1994Southend UnitedH1–216,843Hendrie18 December 1994BurnleyA3–012,049Hendrie (3)26 December 1994Sheffield UnitedA1–120,693Hignett28 December 1994Notts CountyH2–121,558Hignett, Pearson31 December 1994Stoke CityA1–115,914Vickers15 January 1995Swindon TownA1–28,888Hignett21 January 1995Grimsby TownH1–115,360Mustoe4 February 1995ReadingH0–117,98218 February 1995Charlton AthleticH1–016,301Fuchs21 February 1995Wolverhampton WanderersA2–027,611Vickers, Fuchs26 February 1995MillwallA0–07,2474 March 1995Bristol CityH3–017,371Fuchs (3)7 March 1995WatfordH2–016,630Mustoe, Fuchs11 March 1995Bolton WanderersA0–118,37014 March 1995BarnsleyH1–119,655Moreno18 March 1995Derby CountyH2–418,168Fuchs, Pollock21 March 1995SunderlandA1–016,501Pollock26 March 1995Port ValeH3–017,401Fuchs, Robson, Vickers1 April 1995West BromA3–120,256Pollock, Raven (og), Moore5 April 1995Oldham AthleticA0–111,0247 April 1995Stoke CityH2–120,867Pearson, Moore15 April 1995Notts CountyH1–19,677Fuchs17 April 1995Sheffield UnitedH1–123,225Fjørtoft22 April 1995BarnsleyA1–111,711Fjørtoft30 April 1995Luton TownH2–123,903Hendrie (2)7 May 1995Tranmere RoversA1–116,377FjørtoftFA Cup[edit]League Cup[edit]Anglo Italian Cup[edit]RoundDateOpponentVenueResultAttendanceGoalscorersGroup B24 August 1994PiacenzaH0–05,348Group B5 October 1994CesenaH1–13,273MorenoGroup B18 October 1994UdineseA0–0300Group B15 November 1994AnconaA1–31,500Morris[1]Note: Flags indicate national team as defined under FIFA eligibility rules.
