However some of its emblems point to a predecessor, SC Rus, founded in 1925, although direct links between the two franchises can barely be traced. In 1961, Spartak was renamed Verhovyna, and in 1971 Hoverla. In 1982, it was renamed Zakarpattia, then Verhovyna again in 1997 for two years.
