The last two game days (12 and 14 March 2020) of the regular season were scheduled to be played in front of an empty arena due to the Finnish government advising that all public events with more than 500 attendees will be cancelled or postponed.[1] On 13 March, the rest of the season, which included the final round of the regular season and all of playoffs, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[2]The Finnish championship was not awarded for the first time since 1944 when the 1943–44 SM-sarja season was cancelled due to the Continuation War.Location of teams in 2019–2020 LiigaTeamCityHead coachArenaCapacityCaptainHIFKHelsinkiJarno Pikkarainen[3]Helsingin jäähalli8,200Lennart Petrell14 Nov 2019[4]Jere SallinenHPKHämeenlinnaAntti Pennanen[5]Patria-areena5,360Niklas FrimanIlvesTampereKarri Kivi[6]30 Sep 2019[7]Jouko MyrräTampereen jäähalli7,300Eemeli SuomiJukuritMikkeliPekka Kangasalusta[8]6 Jan 2020[9]Marko KauppinenKalevankankaan jäähalli4,200Miika RoineJYP JyväskyläPekka Tirkkonen[10]Synergia-areena4,437Juuso VainioKalPaKuopioTommi Miettinen[11]Niiralan monttu5,300Tommi JokinenKooKooKouvolaJussi Ahokas[12]Lumon arena6,000Alexander BonsaksenKärpätOuluMikko Manner[13]Oulun Energia Areena6,614Lasse KukkonenLukkoRaumaPekka Virta[14]Äijänsuo Arena5,000Tapio LaaksoPelicansLahtiVille Nieminen[15]30 Nov 2019[16]Jesse WellingIsku Areena5,371Hannes BjörninenSaiPaLappeenrantaTero Lehterä[17]Kisapuisto4,820Elmeri KaksonenSportVaasaAri-Pekka Pajuluoma[18]23 Nov 2019[19]Risto DufvaVaasa Arena4,164Erik RiskaTapparaTampereJukka Rautakorpi[20]Tampereen jäähalli7,300Kristian KuuselaTPSTurkuKalle Kaskinen[21]1 Nov 2019[22]Marko VirtanenHK Arena11,820Lauri Korpikoski ÄssätPoriAri-Pekka Selin[23]Porin jäähalli6,350Niklas AppelgrenTable of ContentsRegular season[edit]See also[edit]References[edit]External links[edit]Regular season[edit] Lukko – Ässät 30.11.2019Usually the top six advance straight to quarter-finals, while teams between 7th and 10th positions play wild card round for the final two spots. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the last game day of the season was not played and no playoffs were held. The top 4 teams of the unfinished regular season qualified for the Champions Hockey League and the 5th team to the Spengler Cup.[2] The Liiga is a closed series and thus there is no relegation.PosTeamPldWOTWOTLLGFGAGDPtsFinal Result1Kärpät59367511185114+71127Qualify for 2020–21 Champions Hockey League2Lukko59328613190121+69118[a]3Tappara603011712188128+60119[a]4Ilves59326615182133+491145KooKoo59307616172129+43110Qualify for 2020 Spengler Cup6HIFK59268916174143+311037HPK59277718157147+101028JYP59256424177159+18919Ässät59204827141170−297610KalPa59195827156186−307511TPS59175829149185−366912SaiPa59184433123185−626613Jukurit59118733127178−515614Pelicans59127436120201−815415Sport59114836129191−6249^ a b Due to the regular season being cut short, the ranking of the regular season is based on point average.[24]Rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) 3-point wins 3) Goal difference; 4) Goals scored; 4) Head-to-head points.[25]See also[edit]References[edit]External links[edit]"},{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
@id":"https://wiki.edu.vn/en/wiki40/#breadcrumbitem
Enzyklopädie"}},{"@type":"ListItem
@id":"https://wiki.edu.vn/en/wiki40/2019-20-liiga-season-wikipedia/#breadcrumbitem
2019–20 Liiga season – Wikipedia"}}]}]
