It is the 25th running of the Brickyard 400. Contested over 160 laps on the 2.5-mile (4.0 km) speedway, it was the 26th race of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, and the final race of the regular season before the playoffs. The race was notable for being the first time in NASCAR’s modern era (since 1973) that all track activity prior to the race was cancelled by rain and for the race itself to be delayed to Monday, where it was won by Brad Keselowski’s Team Penske Ford.First points race without Kasey Kahne since the 2003 Ford 400.Table of ContentsBackground[edit]Entry list[edit]Notes[edit]Practice[edit]Qualifying[edit]Starting Lineup[edit]Stage Results[edit]Final Stage Results[edit]Race statistics[edit]Television[edit]Radio[edit]Standings after the race[edit]References[edit]Background[edit] The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, located in Speedway, Indiana, (an enclave suburb of Indianapolis) in the United States, is the home of the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400. It is located on the corner of 16th Street and Georgetown Road, approximately six miles (10 km) west of Downtown Indianapolis. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Constructed in 1909, it is the original speedway, the first racing facility so named. It has a permanent seating capacity estimated at 235,000 with infield seating raising capacity to an approximate 400,000. It is the highest-capacity sports venue in the world.Considered relatively flat by American standards, the track is a 2.5-mile (4.0 km), nearly rectangular oval with dimensions that have remained essentially unchanged since its inception: four 0.25-mile (0.40 km) turns, two 0.625-mile long (1.006 km) straightaways between the fourth and first turns and the second and third turns, and two .125-mile (0.201 km) short straightaways – termed “short chutes” – between the first and second, and third and fourth turns.Entry list[edit]Notes[edit]Regan Smith replaced Kasey Kahne in the No. 95 Leavine Family Racing Chevrolet after the latter stood down due to an ongoing hydration issue that came to a head at the Southern 500 the weekend prior.[8]Practice[edit]Both practice sessions for Saturday were cancelled due to rain.Qualifying[edit]Qualifying for Saturday was cancelled due to rain and Kyle Busch, the point leader, was awarded the pole as a result.[9] (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Starting Lineup[edit] Stage Results[edit]Stage 1Laps: 50PosDriverTeamManufacturerPoints114Clint BowyerStewart-Haas RacingFord10241Kurt BuschStewart-Haas RacingFord9311Denny HamlinJoe Gibbs RacingToyota8442Kyle LarsonChip Ganassi RacingChevrolet7518Kyle BuschJoe Gibbs RacingToyota662Brad KeselowskiTeam PenskeFord5710Aric AlmirolaStewart-Haas RacingFord4821Paul MenardWood Brothers RacingFord399Chase ElliottHendrick MotorsportsChevrolet21020Erik JonesJoe Gibbs RacingToyota1Official stage one resultsStage 2Laps: 50PosDriverTeamManufacturerPoints16Matt KensethRoush Fenway RacingFord1029Chase ElliottHendrick MotorsportsChevrolet9320Erik JonesJoe Gibbs RacingToyota8422Joey LoganoTeam PenskeFord7541Kurt BuschStewart-Haas RacingFord6619Daniel SuárezJoe Gibbs RacingToyota572Brad KeselowskiTeam PenskeFord4824William ByronHendrick MotorsportsChevrolet3931Ryan NewmanRichard Childress RacingChevrolet21048Jimmie JohnsonHendrick MotorsportsChevrolet1Official stage two resultsFinal Stage Results[edit]Stage 3Laps: 60PosGridDriverTeamManufacturerLapsPoints162Brad KeselowskiTeam PenskeFord1604921320Erik JonesJoe Gibbs RacingToyota1604431011Denny HamlinJoe Gibbs RacingToyota16042424Kevin HarvickStewart-Haas RacingFord160335814Clint BowyerStewart-Haas RacingFord160426441Kurt BuschStewart-Haas RacingFord160467211Jamie McMurrayChip Ganassi RacingChevrolet160308118Kyle BuschJoe Gibbs RacingToyota1603591921Paul MenardWood Brothers RacingFord16031101731Ryan NewmanRichard Childress RacingChevrolet1602911912Ryan BlaneyTeam PenskeFord1602612296Matt KensethRoush Fenway RacingFord1603513522Joey LoganoTeam PenskeFord1603114742Kyle LarsonChip Ganassi RacingChevrolet1603015119Chase ElliottHendrick MotorsportsChevrolet16033161448Jimmie JohnsonHendrick MotorsportsChevrolet16022172634Michael McDowellFront Row MotorsportsFord16020182019Daniel SuárezJoe Gibbs RacingToyota16024192224William Byron (R)Hendrick MotorsportsChevrolet16021202795Regan SmithLeavine Family RacingChevrolet16017213013Ty DillonGermain RacingChevrolet1601622183Austin DillonRichard Childress RacingChevrolet16015231210Aric AlmirolaStewart-Haas RacingFord15918242538David RaganFront Row MotorsportsFord15913252337Chris BuescherJTG Daugherty RacingChevrolet15812263215Ross Chastain (i)Premium MotorsportsChevrolet1580273372Corey LaJoieTriStar MotorsportsChevrolet1581028387Reed SorensonPremium MotorsportsChevrolet1589293523J.
