The district has a population density of 1,721 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,460\/sq\u00a0mi). Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 19%. Literacy rate of the district is 56.56% (male 66.83%, female 45.24%). 9.74% of the population lives in urban areas.
