This election broadly coincided with an increase in the city council area,[2] and several outgoing members of Cork County Council, based in areas transferred to the city, stood for election to the city council. Besides extending all LEAs into the former county area, the former LEA of North Central was abolished and its area divided between North West and North East.[3][4]Under the Local Government Act 2019, voters in the city were also asked to contribute to a plebiscite on whether to have a directly elected executive mayor.[5] Voters rejected the proposal in favour of retaining the existing ceremonial Lord Mayor of Cork, who is chosen annually by the councillors from among their number.[6] (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});after-content-x4Table of ContentsResults by party[edit]Results by local electoral area[edit]Cork City North East[edit]Cork City North West[edit]Cork City South Central[edit]Cork City South East[edit]Cork City South West[edit]Results by gender[edit]Plebiscite[edit]Changes since 2019 local elections[edit]See also[edit][edit]Sources[edit]References[edit]External links[edit]Results by party[edit]PartySeats±First Pref. votesFPv%±%Fianna Fáil8216,47424.520.53Fine Gael7213,83420.591.63Sinn Féin448,08212.0311.96Green446,89010.257.27Labour113,7735.620.33Solidarity121,5742.343.52Workers’ Party11,1821.761.28Social Democrats01,9062.84NewAontú01,5932.37NewHRRA01,4622.18NewPeople Before Profit05590.83NewIndependent519,86314.680.37Totals3167,192100.0Results by local electoral area[edit]Cork City North East[edit]Cork City North East – 6 seats[7]PartyCandidateFPv%Count12345678910Fianna FáilKenneth O’Flynn[a][b]12.75%1,7101,7181,7251,7331,7411,8071,8411,931 LabourJohn Daniel Maher10.03%1,3451,3451,3631,3781,4101,4591,5591,6671,8341,985IndependentGer Keohane[c]9.54%1,2791,2871,2981,3081,3201,3421,3821,4251,5131,709Fine GaelJoe Kavanagh[d]9.35%1,2541,2581,2621,2641,2751,3091,3231,3411,3831,756GreenOliver Moran8.80%1,1801,1841,2101,2161,3071,3241,4821,5401,6281,739Fianna FáilTim Brosnan[d]7.81%1,0481,0501,0571,0641,0691,2321,2671,2901,3561,441Fine GaelLorraine O’Neill7.81%1,0471,0551,0591,0721,0891,1101,1251,1441,178 Workers’ PartyTed Tynan[d]7.69%1,0311,0381,0701,0881,1101,1411,3141,5321,7641,817IndependentNoreen Murphy6.08%8158198448628798959961,079 SolidarityCarol Brogan5.14%689690722726810822 Sinn FéinMick Nugent[e]4.98%668668674818826844910 Fianna FáilMartin Dorgan3.60%483485485487487 Social DemocratsSinéad Halpin2.30%309309320327 Sinn FéinMandy O’Leary Hegarty1.99%267268272 IndependentMobolaji Taiwo Ajisafe0.92%123123 HRRARisteárd Ó Glaimhín0.77%103104 IndependentSean Patrick O’Sullivan0.45%60 Electorate: 30910 Valid: 13,411 Spoilt: 287 Quota: 1,916 Turnout: 44.32% Cork City North West[edit]Cork City North West – 6 seats[8]PartyCandidateFPv%Count123456789101112Fianna FáilTony Fitzgerald[d]14.11%1,6621,6641,6711,6761,684 Sinn FéinThomas Gould[a][b]11.91%1,4021,4091,4261,4991,5181,5631,5961,6541,700 Sinn FéinKenneth Collins[d]9.74%1,1471,1541,1781,2091,2171,2531,2761,3191,3611,4251,4561,512Fine GaelDamian Boylan8.99%1,0591,0591,0591,0631,0691,0711,0891,1191,1751,2271,2851,452Fianna FáilJohn Sheehan[a]8.69%1,0231,0231,0251,0351,0351,0471,0871,2711,3101,3701,4321,570SolidarityFiona Ryan[f]7.52%8858879159309851,0171,0501,0731,1341,1821,4001,482Fine GaelJulie O’Leary5.95%7017017027037097137327648368761,0191,136GreenMark Cronin4.78%563567579580592595612637755782 IndependentKevin Conway[c]4.55%536569578583594602669712747877925 LabourLuke Carroll4.48%528532538542548558576594 Fianna FáilSeán Coleman4.47%526529536539541546565 IndependentJoe O’Callaghan4.04%476482485491502527586606637 AontúFinian Toomey3.75%442444445454467488 IndependentTimothy J.
