Ses b\u00e9n\u00e9fices ont \u00e9t\u00e9 unis \u00e0 ceux de St Andrew, Bursough Bridge, St Cyprian, Bursough Bridge et Oaks, Bursough Bridge. [d’abord] L’\u00e9glise est enregistr\u00e9e dans la liste du patrimoine national pour l’Angleterre en tant que b\u00e2timent inscrit de grade II *. [2] C’\u00e9tait une \u00e9glise des commissaires, ayant re\u00e7u une subvention envers sa construction de la Commission de construction de l’\u00e9glise. [3]  Histoire [ modifier ]] L’\u00e9glise a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite entre 1829 et 1832 pour un design de Daniel Stewart. [4] Une subvention de 3 040 \u00a3 (\u00e9quivalent \u00e0 280 000 \u00a3 en 2021) [5] a \u00e9t\u00e9 donn\u00e9 vers sa construction par la Commission de construction de l’\u00e9glise. [3] Le co\u00fbt total de sa construction de l’\u00e9glise \u00e9tait de 3 440 \u00a3. Des galeries ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ins\u00e9r\u00e9es sur trois c\u00f4t\u00e9s en 1857. En 1887-1889, le choeur a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9 par William Waddington and Sons, et vers 1932, la sacristie sud a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite. [4] Architecture [ modifier ]] St John’s est construit dans un gr\u00e8s en radis, avec un toit en ardoise. Son style architectural est le renouveau gothique. Le plan se compose d’une nef \u00e0 cinq baies et d’un choeur avec une sacristie au sud. Le front ouest est \u00e0 pignon et est divis\u00e9 en trois baies par quatre contreforts polygonaux qui s’\u00e9l\u00e8vent aux tourelles encercl\u00e9es octogonales. Sur l’apex du pignon se trouve une cloche avec des ouvertures de cloches louvr\u00e9es sur lesquelles sont des gablets. Il a un haut Ogival surmont\u00e9 d’un pinacle en crocs. Dans la baie centrale se trouve une porte cintr\u00e9e, au-dessus duquel est une fen\u00eatre aveugle \u00e0 trois feuilles. Dans chaque baie lat\u00e9rale se trouve une fen\u00eatre aveugle \u00e0 deux l\u00e9gers. Les baies le long des c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l’\u00e9glise sont divis\u00e9es par des contreforts, et chacun contient une fen\u00eatre \u00e0 deux l\u00e9gers. Dans les coins du choeur se trouvent des tourelles, ses fen\u00eatres lat\u00e9rales ont deux lumi\u00e8res et la fen\u00eatre est a cinq lumi\u00e8res.
