Türkiye Kupası (as a cup winner or finalist)

The TFF Super Cup (German: Tff superpokal ) is an annual Supercup competition of the Turkish Football Association. In this Supercup competition, the Turkish champion plays against the Turkish cup winner. If the master is also a cup winner, the cup finalist moves in. The record winner with 16 titles is Galatasaray Istanbul.

Presidential Cup (1966 BIS 1998) [ Edit | Edit the source text ]

The competition was under the name for the first time in 1966 Presidential Cup (Deutsch: Präsidenten-Pocal) held. As a Turkish champion Beşiktaş Istanbul and Galatasaray Istanbul, it faced themselves as Turkish cup winners. Galatasaray won the game 2-0. In 1968, Fenerbahçe Istanbul won the trophy without playing a game. The team was champion and also a cup winner, so the game was not set. The same scenario was in 1973, but this time the Başbakanlık Kupası winner Galatasaray Istanbul was set an opponent for Fenerbahçe Istanbul. From 1983, the runner-up was allowed to participate instead of the Başbakanlık Kupası winner of the runner-up.

Göztepe Izmir won the title in 1970 as the first team outside of Istanbul. In addition to Göztepe Izmir, Eskişehirspor, MKE Ankaragücü and Trabzonspor succeed. In 1977 Trabzonspor won the trophy as the first team after penalty shootout. Four years later, the Supercup competition was in DEUTSCH: STAATSOBERHERHEPT-POKAL) renamed because on September 12, 1980 a military coup under the direction of the chief of staff Kenan Evren was carried out and no cumhurbaşkanı ruled from 1981 to 1982. From 1983 the expression was Presidential Cup used again. The last game under this name was played in 1998.

From 1966 to 1998 the games took place in the 19 Mayıs Stadı in Ankara.

Süper Kupa (since 2006) [ Edit | Edit the source text ]

After an eight -year break, the 2006 Supercup was under the name Super Cup reintroduced. From 2006 to 2008 the games were played in Frankfurt am Main, Cologne and Duisburg. The term in Germany justified the general secretary of the Turkish Football Association Lütfi Arıboğan in 2006 with the fact that one wanted to offer the many supporters of Turkish football in Germany the opportunity to experience the two best teams of the past season in a real competition. [first] Since 2009, the competition has only been taking place in Turkey. Due to the suspicion of manipulation, the Supercup final was postponed to a later date for the 2011 Supercup final, for 27 October 2011 and not yet held.

From 2016 to 2017 the final was under the name Turkcell Super Cup changed. [2]
