Naturtheater Heidenheim – Wikipedia

The Naturtheater Heidenheim is an open -air stage in Heidenheim an der Brenz, which has been in the immediate vicinity of Hellenstein Castle since 1924. The program is aimed at both children and adults. Among other things, the theater is characterized by the fact that all roles are played by amateur actors.

The history of the natural theater goes to the non -commissioned officer Gustav Müller (1884–1943) [first] Back that decided to found a theater club during the First World War. According to his daughter, the non -commissioned officer vowed under heavy shelling in the trench: ” When I get out of here, I want to use my life for something that connects people: art. [2] In 1919 the Folk art association founded, which was entered in the register of associations in 1921. The opening of the open -air stage on Salamanderbächle took place in 1924. This year Eugen Jaekle became honorary chairman. [3]

The game was discontinued during the Second World War, in 1946 with the play The valiant dressmaker resumed. The tradition of an annual children’s play was in 1976 with the Robber Hotzenplotz began. Shakespeare production was successful in 1981 Romeo and Juliet . In the same year, disagreements led to the division of associations and the open -air stage on the tributary jump in Königsbronn was founded as an independent stage.

With Goethe’s fist was a classic on the schedule in 1985 and three years later became Anatevka As the first musical in the Heidenheim natural theater. The old spectator hall was demolished in 1995 and replaced by a modern, christening building with a capacity of 1068 seats. A special feature in 1997 the performance of the musical line 1 dar: The 17 performances did not take place in the natural theater itself, but in the Heidenheim Central Station, with ongoing rail operations serving as a real backdrop. In 2006 the association received a new workshop building with another rehearsal room, a tailoring and enlarged rooms for the costume rental. To date, modern or rarely modern works are on the program. So came in 2000 Amadeus , 2001 Sister Act or 2004 Katharina Knie for performance. By completing the construction work on the forecourt to the natural theater, the entire environment, which is used as a local recreation area, received a new look from 2009.
In 2011, a total of 41,125 spectators visited the productions of the summer season I often think of Piroschka and Pinocchio . The audience consisted of visitors from the neighboring counties as well as from all corners of Germany beyond the district of Heidenheim. In 2016, a renewed conversion to enlarge the costume rental, the redesign of the club’s internal Klause and the theater stage began.

With over 500 members of all ages, the association belongs Naturtheater Heidenheim To the popular clubs of the city of Heidenheim and the surrounding area. Today’s board (2022) is made up of Stefan Benz, Lara Tschabrun, Dirk Steffens, Stephan Fritz and Silke von Fürich.
