Kizuna is a manga by Kazuma Kodaka. The manga can be classified into the genre of the Yaoi and was animated in the form of two Ova series.

Two couples and their relationship with each other are pursued over several years. On the one hand, these are Kei Enjoji and Ranmaru Samejima who have known each other since the high school. And on the other hand, Kai Sagano and Masanori Araki, who protects Kai since his birth.

Ranmaru Samejima Sacrificed his free time during his youth exclusively for the Kendo, in which he had been taught by his grandfather since early childhood, who also took up his upbringing, since Ranmaru’s mother died after a serious illness and his father to volume 10 had disappeared.
He met his friend and beloved Kei Enjoji during the middle school, but their ways separate to the high school. And even though he defended himself against his feelings at the beginning, the two became a couple and even married in the course of history. However, this was only purely symbolic, since a civil wedding act under same -sex in Japan is not allowed and homosexuality is still frowned upon.

Kei ENJOJI Is the son of a Yakuza boss and his lover, a Geisha. His mother, who completely stopped contact with Keis father, died after a long and serious illness. From then on he was on his own. During this difficult time he was accompanied by Ranmaru Samejima, in which he fell in love with the first meeting in the middle school and from that moment more than clear. Kei also has a half -brother, Kai Sagano, who is the son of her father and his wife.

Kai Sagano is the son of the same Yakuza boss and half brother of Kei Enjoji. His mother died when Kai was two years old. After her death, the Yakuza clan in particular took care of his physical and spiritual well-being, above all Masanori Araki, who seems to read every wish from his lips, which made a rather spoiled boy and later adult who only enforced his has its own will in mind. Kai is in love with Ranmaru Samejima at the beginning of the story, but later discovers his love for Masanori Araki, who initially sees no lover in him and regularly rejects him in a painful way.

MASANORI ARAKI is the junor pouries of the Yakuza clan, who has been a bodyguard for Kai Sagano since it started with the clan. In the beginning, both have only one deep affection for each other: Masanori is a father, mother and brother for his protégé. Restrained by Kais, he initially rejects him, which is more a question of morality than unrequited love, since Masanori is almost seventeen years older and is subject to Kai’s father. Soon he soon becomes clear about his true feelings about Kai Sagano.

The manga was released in Japan from 1992 to 2008 in the magazine Be × Boy And was released by publisher Biblos and later Libre in eleven anthologies. In Germany he was released from Carlsen Comics from summer 2003. At that time he was the second Yaoi-Manga, which was published by a German publisher. The first was ZETSUAI by Minami Ozaki in 2000. All 11 volumes of the series have been published in German. The German translation comes from Nina Olligschläger.

The manga appeared in Germany with the inscription Recommended from 16 , however, lost no age restriction or censorship.
